bhargavachandra 3 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Same here. CC gave me name of shops selling DOCOMO sims. When I called them - They don't have. Sad. I need a sim.. Dear Mr. Sonam Kumar, Don't worry about that. I just called up a friend of mine in Chennai who is as desperate as we are to get the SIM. According to him it takes 3 to 4 days from the date of launch for the SIM to reach your local market vendor. He told me that two days after the launch, selected vendors and the distributor will be invited for a meeting cum party. The next day after that, SIMs will be available with at least the select vendors and a week after that they will be sold by all vendors. For instance, In Kerala it was launched on 25th, so meeting will be held on 27th and SIMs should be available on 28th. This information is not authentic!! Comments are welcome. siva1983in 1 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 @bhargavMTS sims were avlbl in crntral chennai right next to the day of launch TATA GSM seems to be slow comparatively I saw MTS handsets in evey shop in my locality in chennai the day BEFORE it was launched. On the day of MTS launch, every shop had a MTS sign board with the shop name written and every shop sold handset and sim on the launch date. Ask MTS how to plan. Except that they choose CDMA... One more doubt.. What are the rate cutters in Tata Docomo for? Some one had mentioned in earlier posts.. May be right from launch, only if v use rate cutters, tariff is 1paise/sec. Dear Mr. Siva, I just want to say that a little bit of delay in issuing the SIM cards at launch time is no way an indicator of overall reputation of the brand. As per your request I'm providing you the tariff details: Regular tariff (without any add-on packs): (They call it "Pay-as-you-use" Pack) 1) If you buy the connection within the first one month on the launch, then Local & STD both at 1 Paise/Sec. 2) If you buy the connection after one month of launch, then Local at 1 Paise/Sec. and STD at 2 Paise/Sec. Add-on Packs: (They call it "Juice-up Packs") 1) Juice-up 'on-net' local pack: Local calls at 1 Paise/2 Sec. MRP: 25/- Validity: 30 days. 2) Juice-up STD pack: STD calls at 1 Paise/Sec. MRP: 35/- Validity: 30 days. 3) Juice-up 500 Min. Pack: 500 Local on-net minutes MRP: 49/- Validity: 30 days. Value Added Services: Missed call alerts: No charges whatsoever. Comes pre-activated. Voice Mail: No monthly rentals. No deposits. No retrieval charges. To activate: Send 'ACTVM' to 121. Source: Tata DoCoMo CC IVR, Tamil Nadu. Call 9043-012345 and follow the IVR instructions to get the information. Edited June 26, 2009 by bhargavachandra

lostjournal 7 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 went to 2 outlets now. they have got their dealer's easy recharging sim. but customer sim not yet received.. all are saying july 1... As per site - the postpaid launch date is also july 1st. The wait is worth. Eventually I will shift to postpaid. No matter how good the plan is - there is always a fear of sudden closure. In that aspect, postpaid is better.
savramesh 37 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 ^^^ but for postpaids they should have their own store in every town. if postpaid comes under same roof [true value shop] then we can expect on july 1 esle will take some time..
