And when I had talked to the Cochin office - They said that they have nothing to do with Tata Indicom and hence you wont get the sim at the True Value Hub or Store. It also showing AP and karnataka. For more detils visit http://www.tatadocomo.com/sitemap.aspx went to 2 outlets now. they have got their dealer's easy recharging sim. but customer sim not yet received.. all are saying july 1... Called up three places - value shops and hubs. They have no details as to when the consumer will get the sim in hand. Morever - DoCoMo will have separate selling channels it seems. I need a sim. We are not going to get GSM sims through TATA hubs or shopees for the time being. Soon three brands (indicom, docomo and virgin) going to be under one roof. discussions are going on the top corporate ("anil sardana") level. hope we can expect the unexpected. ravi_patent 28 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) here in chennai the sims were avalbl by yday late evening with a small but influential retailer....but not avlbl till now wt other retailers..in Central chennai definetly MTS executed better than DOCOMO ... reg tariffs; any rate cutters for onnet std calls? Sorry guys for the late response.... sorry to savramesh too... I have only one gsm handset, anyway I need to get one more (so sorry I cant loose my 4+ years old Airtel number for the time being). that's why it happened I got the sim (dark green in color) on Saturday morning. Which comes with cool three fold book type packing. user guide is also too funny to read. in English as well as in Malayalam. I paid 49 rupees for the sim the retailer compelled me to do a 51 rupees first recharge (he said he wont get any commission if I refused to do the first recharge from him) first I said no coz sim have 5 rupees talktime which is enough to make some calls on per second billing. I am sure that if I am not ready to do the first recharge I won't get the sim, he has only 4 sim on stock) I put the sim on the handset ... switched on.... Tried to check my balance *111# (I need to confirm that the sim is got recharged for 51 rupees or not). i got the reply to make a call first to activate the service. ok.. I tried for the first call. OOPS...."your outgoing facility is temporarily barred, please contract 121 for more details.... tried 121 ..... same reply. again back to the retailer. i told the situation.. he made some calls to the dealer care from his mobile (dealer sim is dark brown in color) .. he made my sim active within ten mins. HELLO WORLD !!!!! NOW I BECOME A SUBSCRIBER OF TATA DOCOMO what else. balance got finished with in 1 hour. first called my dad then made some STD (Which is cheaper, right?) calls to my friends. hat's off to TATA DOCOMO. Foot notes: call charge printed on the sim packet and on the tarif sheet inside is local calls 1 rs per min and 1.5 rs for std. nothing to worry i got 1ps per sec tariff. It would be wonderful if all of the three brands (Indicom, DoCoMo and Virgin Mobile) come under a single roof. As each one of them has its own distinction, they would not conflict each others identity. People who just want the basic & economical voice services or internet services would go to the Indicom desk. People who savor variety of services, privileges and convenience would go to the DoCoMo desk. The fully charged youth would go to Virgin Mobile desk. And lastly for people who would like to explore everything, there is MNP desk. If Abhishek Bachchan sees such a Tata Trio shop in Mumbai from his car window .........he would certainly say ----- "Ahh.... Sim size : 64 k. Clock settings not needed as the clock adjusts with the network time. Ok next - I put the sim on my NOkia E71. And voila! The gprs is active(Edge). And access point is still - airtelgprs.com I am attaching a few unboxing pics below: It all started here when I saw this Ad in Kesavadasapuram- Then I went to kichoos,Plamoodu junction to get the sim. The tariff details are as below: See the "LUCKY" phrase. This is how the packet looked initially: The back of the packet( note the tariff): After opening the packet: User Guide: Half in English,half in Malayalam Continued...
