rahujas 16 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 I need my storm 9530 to be activated on tata. someone with blackberry please help me and tell me "bberry registration id" for tata. i need to update the prl but my phone is latching to RELIANCE network in roaming and not on TATA network when i dial *228. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 (edited) Home SID = BB Reg ID, so in case of Reliance it is 14655; Tata uses many Home SID's which are - 14846, 14842, 14840, 14836, 14844, 14838.... try and see which one works... after doing ##000000 + Green Key (presuming that ur spc is 000000) and pressing menu to edit the BB Reg ID... Also note for other people, as somebody asked this question in some other topic.... once the BB Reg ID is properly configured as above, the roaming icon also disappears.... Download And Install QXDM 2.08.05 And The Blackberry Desktop Manager. Step 2. Open The Blackberry Desktop Manager and let it Recognize your Phone. Step 3. * Click on Start Menu * Right Click on My Computer * Click on Manage * Click on Device Manager * Go to Ports (COM & LPT) and you'll see 2 Rim Virtual Serial Ports V2 (COM #) Step 4. - Open QXDM 2.08.05 (ensure VIEW is set to COMMAND OUTPUT) * Go to Options * Communications... * Select and try One of the Rim Virtual Serial Port V2 (COM #) Step 3 *** Note: If it's connected to the right COM Port, you'll see a bunch of letters, numbers on the QXDM Screen. - If you you have your Blackberry SPC already, do the following steps: Don't forget to use " " a) mode offline-d Turns radio off and sets to service mode. Check phone radio is off. spc "******" Replace asterisk with the 6 digit code. Output should read successful. c) pr_list_wr 0 "C:\The name of your prl.prl" If needed change file path to location of PRL. Output should read successful. d) nv_write sec_code {"000000"} Optional: use this command to change code to zeros or another 6 digits. e) nv_write nam_lock 0 0 Removes the NAM lock f) mode reset Reboots phone to reset mode. Step 5. Press ##Your SPC + Send and edit your NAM settings. Step 6. Call your Service Provider and tell them that you want to activate/Register your new phone (for Tata only) IMPORTANT: If you don't unlock the Nam, after the reset, the prl from sprint overwrite ur prl and the phone just working on roaming.. sukajazz 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2009 I have installe QXDm and tried to connect to my storm 9530, but some how appear "STRING 15:59:59.452 Failed to open comm port: COM14 ", do you know why. it did not response anything when I inser command ( ie I type mode offlin-d and its response is "There was a timeout (no response received) Error response from DMSS: 0" Please help me I need to reset prl to become available to my cdma network i Indonesia ( mobile-8 or Fren) Thank you Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted October 4, 2009 which version of qxdm are u using ?? use qxdm 3.11 once u install qxdm , also install qpst 2.3 build 264 then install bb desktop manager connect your storm to pc and open up bb desktop manager go to device manager and see which com ports ur phone is connected to it will show 2 virtual ports ( use the higher number ) just open qpst and in qpst configurator add the corresponding com port what u see in device manager once com port is added , close qpst and start qxdm and then connect to corresponding com port 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

For all CDMA phone activation which are Non-RUIM based, if phone is not bought from Tata, it will not be activated. Reason - Tata has changed to Akey based activation.
