sridhar raj 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 Hi every one, I've following doubts, please clarify... 1.Reliance gsm is 3G?what about reliance cdma?what generation is it? 2.is 3G common for both cdma and gsm player?i.e,will 3G auction for cdma has to come for network upgradation? 3.what all are the difference that a end user feel if he switches from 2G to 3G? thank you
Arun 795 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 1) Reliance GSM and Reliance CDMA are "3G ready" 2) For 3G with mobility they will require to bid and win license for both GSM and CDMA separately. 3) You will feel like using broadband internet on your mobile. It will be a "giant leap" for mobile internet in India. Currently with 2G you will feel like using a dial up connection in the late 90s. Hopefully 3G will become a reality by 2010. me_saket 73 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 can 3G video call can be done from rcom gsm 3g to cdma 3g, once started?
Puneet 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 Technically speaking, yes it would be possible, but whether Reliance implements it or not we do not know.
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 Mostly. Rcom will not bid for 3g for cdma. They will only promote gsm henceforth....and allow cdma to die in 3 to 4 years...just wait and watch....
sridhar raj 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2009 after reliance gets a good gsm market share will they quit cdma business? i think main focus is on gsm rather than cdma.. why people are speaking only about 3G gsm and not 3G cdma? is there any possibilities of gsm players entering cdma space as reliance and tata docomo did? whats the difference between 3G cdma and 3G gsm?which one will be better.... Arun 795 Report post Posted July 6, 2009 Maybe they are focusing more on GSM now since they just launched GSM and want to compete with the other leaders in GSM? I do not think they will want to quit CDMA eventually.
savramesh 37 Report post Posted July 6, 2009 priority goes to 3g gsm due to availability of wide range of 3g gsm handsets.. many customers prefer gsm because that got the majority of customers in india. Just think majority of customers are in cdma and cdma handsets are more available than gsm handsets then all prefer cdma than gsm. most people follow what others do.. never mind which one is best..
