Anupe 14 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 Ok chaps.. I'm back after a long long hiatus. Been busy setting up a new business venture and finally its about rolling now, so I seem to have a little more free time on my hands than in the last 8-9 months. Been using the HTC Vogue sourced from Sadik bhai more than a year ago, and that handset still absolutely rocks ( I don't care what you Mogul owners think, I think the Touch out-touches your phones... ) Anyways.. the reason for this post is..I am considering a change of handset, not because there's anything wrong with the Vogue, its just that I want another model and yes, I will stick to the WM platform. First off.. I am NOT considering the Mogul as an option, that would be going retrograde ... seems like the only alternative options I have right now if I source the phone from Sadik ( and that is what I plan on doing) is to go for either the Touch Diamond or the Touch Pro (unless there is another newer model also available by Sadik from the HTC stable for CDMA users ) I use the phone a lot to browse and facebook from the phone itself, so I presume the option of taking a Blackberry from Sadik to use on the Reliance network is useless to me since data connectivity doesn't work on the c*acked BB sets from Sadik? Anyways.. those are my thoughts. if anybody has suggestions for a new HTC handset for me to replace my Touch, please post here Cheers
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 buying a blackberry also is retrograde , the browser isnt that good the best option for u wud be either diamond or touch pro if u dont need qwerty keys then go for diamond as it is very compact and lighter than ur htc touch browsing experience is same on both phones if u need qwerty keys and u type a lot then needless to say get a touch pro

But better processor, more memory and external storage card option will definitely be points I look up as the deciding factor. If I'm not mistaken, the Diamond only has on board 4GB bundled without the option to add an external storage card?
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 yes diamond has fixed 4gb non expandable memory ( for me its sufficient as i dont load my phone unnecssarily and bog it down ) fyi both phones have same processor and same ram one added advantage of diamond is fm radio ( i guess its only htc cdma phone in which u can enjoy fm ) pro has 512mb rom which means u get 300 mb internal phone memory and diamond has 256 mb rom which means u get 80 mb internal memory ( but it is always advisable to use external memory for apps) both phones are best htc has to offer at moment in cdma , though its matter of personal preference when it comes to choosing between two . If the Diamond has 256mb, that's the same as the HTC Touch which also has 256mb . In that case the Touch Pro with 512mb would be a lot smoother in performance wouldn't it? Absolutely spot on about installing apps only in external mem, that's what most of us do anyways (at least I follow that method) I'm not a big fan of listening to music on my phone, in over a year of usage I have only 1GB filled on my 8GB card, most of which are probably apps , some games and ebooks. Was going through a few reviews and most of them did state that the Diamond was pretty sluggish in performance as compared to the Touch Pro Since you are a Diamond user, would you say the same as well? harismahesh 55 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 @ Anupe..this time i think u should select PRO...last time there was a big fight between us (Mogul vs Touch). So this time its ur turn to change to PRO. Which is the advanced model of Mogul
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) @anupe rom size has nothing to do with smoother performance its just nand flash memory thats all getting 512mb rom just gives u that extra space thats all i have had oppurtunity to play with touch pro also for a while diamond is sluggish and even touch pro is sluggish specially if u on stock sprint roms both phones have 288mb ram , and are way better than touch and mogul htc touch was a sluggish handset for me with grainy resolution , and narrow viewing angle (just tilting the device the display used to be washed out ) user experience is totally different than what u had on touch once u on custom rom u will enjoy power of both the handsets diamond as well as pro as i said before also performance wise both handsets are almost alike (its not like touch and mogul), what u choose is just matter of personal preference . bottomline is both are good handsets , just set ur priorities and take decision Edited August 5, 2009 by mufaddal_km
Anupe 14 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 @Hari: On your suggesting I'll probably go with the PRO this time..but this time you take the Diamond? That way we can still keep fighting @Mufaddal: Thanks mate. I guess you've sure given a lot of clarity to the issue. Was kind of tilting towards the PRO, and after all it is a newer release. My pocket was quite light till now because my Touch was not a "brick".. but I think this time I'll take the brick and see if it'll give my equilibrium some more stability
