Moreover their life is just 4-5 hours...but I think people will wear it for another 4-5 months washing it weekly !!! Its a public epidemic and I have not seen any advertisement by Govt in the new paper regarding prevention !!! Ironically, few months back when election was there, new papers are filled with all sorts of advertisements ! Edited August 12, 2009 by saurabh159
kshah 452 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Ayurvedic remedies are effective - at times very effective - provided one follows entire regime. Including food, exercises and even sleeping times, eating time etc. Ayurved is complete science of health. Modern days we confuse Ayurved with science of curing and healing - because modern medicine system is science of curing and healing. More than Swine flu, we Indian need to be cautious about TB, Malaria, Influenza (Kills half a million a year) and water borne diseases which spreads at much faster pace than H1N1 and kills more people every year than new diseases and hygiene in general. To me it appears to be hand in glove with pharma cos, government and other wasted interests. Else there is no reason for health minister to make statement that 1/3rd of population will be affected in next 2 years by swine flu. Government job is to create awareness not panic. Best way to prevent any disease is to keep your immune system at peak by proper food, sleep and exercise (Still failures may occur). Learn how to control your emotions and stress. Maintain proper hygiene - personal, residential and community. Do not eat processed food or food from unknown sources Including fast foods from Mc Donalds, Pizza huts, KFC or any other multinational brands. (They are biggest health hazard - read book fast food nation and read US health statistics to realize - Any one needs audio book, I can give)

aviator 3 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Update on swine flu : Recent death of a 4 yr. old boy in Chennai and the raise in no. of fatalities to 7 all over India has raised the concern level of our employees as indicated by the number of queries and panic mails, chain mails etc. All that is needed at this time is reliable and dependable information and awareness among us. The salient features of Swine Flu can be summarized as: The infection closely mimics the symptoms of common cold. As the climate is turning chilly the no. of cases with flu like symptoms will increase All flu cases need not be Swine Flu, it could be simple common coldIf you have symptoms of flu, first you approach your family physician for normal treatment course for common flu. Only if the symptoms don’t subside in 72 hrs you need to consider Swine flu testing Tamiflu should be administered only after the confirmation of tests.High risk groups (Diabetics, Pregnant women, Immunocomprimised persons) only need to undertake immediate steps Wearing of Surgical masks doesn’t offer any significant protection Closing of schools, colleges doesn’t seem to reduce the infection spread Simple personal hygiene measures like cough hygiene, Hand washing can significantly reduce chance of infection There are no vaccines currently available, and a vaccine for Swine flu may be available in November 2009
petar 15 Report post Posted August 14, 2009 The official worldwide cases H1N1 confirmed as per WHO = 177457 & confirmed deaths are 1462. Which makes official mortality rate of 0.8% of total affected people. For Southeast asia region Total cases are 11432 & deaths are 83. which takes the rate down to 0.72% of affected people. There may be many more undetected cases who were not diagnosed but still surviving. The Point is that a normal healthy human being maybe completely cured in 5 days from this virus. The hue cry rite now is to curtail the spread of the virus. the virus is not deadly in itself, but its spreading very rapidly & that is what is worrying the officials. For us, the general public, we should maintain hygenie, take pracautions & build our imminity through proper diet, exercise & rest. & ofcourse avoid spreading panic at local community level.
