When I contacted bank to update the name in bank records they told me that it has to be published in govt. Gazette as well which is published once a month. I don't know which office publishes Gazette. Anyone know which govt. office to contact to get this published in govt. Gazette. I am from meerut (U.P.). savramesh 37 Report post Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) i changed my name some 6 years back.. i went to a local shop where we get all government application forms. and asked for Government Gazette name change application.. took some 400 Rs DD and sent the document to Chennai address mentioned in the form.. after some days, it was published and they sent me 5 copies of the name change publication.. the i used the publication's attested photocopy to change my name in ration card, banks, license, pancard etc..
