Harshal 11 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/30/sciphone-dream-g2-android-charger-is-best-ever/ ^^^ "One of our favorite intellectual property rips of recent months is without a doubt the SciPhone Dream G2 from China. Having completely missed the point of Google's open-source OS being, well, open-source and thus free for SciPhone's use, the company instead chose to hack the G2's "proprietory" OS to look like Android. The charger, however, built to look like the iconic Android mascot is pretty damn cute; enough so that the idea of paying $150 just to get our hands on the 100-240V USB charger has crossed our minds. See the Android's naughty bits after the break." LOLz. I was thinking the same thing as the article above, that since the OS is open source there is a very high chance that it is the real deal. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 LOL.... Its a total fake. I received this reply from this seller - No where I mentioned that this phone is Adroid OS. This is an android interface and not OS. THe price of an android phone is not less than double the cost of this phone.
petar 15 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 besides the OS you are not sure about the hardware... For a second assume its genuine Android... but what if its slow due to hardware ?? Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 android os is free , and as such handset maufactureres dont have to pay to use it thats what the article mentions , G2 sciphone cud have used actual android os , but they instead used their own chinese os which was polished to look like android os the specs on ebay also say that it has opera mini browser for browsing , not chrome browser which is default browser of android
