This service allows search across business, directions, events and movies by organizing local information on a pan-India basis. The application is available on mobile through SMS, Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and downloads. The company will launch the service over internet in some time. Through this service, a user can search maps data across 15 zoom levels and landmark based routing. Reliance Communications is the first telecom operator to provide the service. Once public beta is opened on web, the platform will allow rich mobile web experience leveraging on the maps and geocoded yellow pages information for India. "This service will increase the usage of device based search and navigation. Business, event, direction and point and find search are for the serious users, while friend finder adds the fun element," commented Krishna Durbha, Head, VAS, Reliance Communications. "BIGMaps has best maps data and geocoded yellow pages information with over 20 million geocoded buildings across India which once opened on web allows for most accurate search and user generated content," said Manav Sethi, COO, BIGMaps, adding that the Mumbai based startup is ready with the mapmaker tool where in a missing building could be added next to the one on the map.
