Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 i came to know this last mnth from a reliable source atleast its priced at 28k , i thought it wud be more than 35k this explains y they are slashing prices off on all previous bb models btw since its reliance handset BIS will work in cdma mode and PIN will be blocked by reliance
Sadikk 301 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Even i had the speculation but its confirm now.. Well we can always Unlock GSM and get BIS activated..
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Well we can always Unlock GSM and get BIS activated.. for voice and sms yes 100% we can unlock but BIS on gsm wont happen unless reliance releases its PIN .
Sadikk 301 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Well... Service providers dont keep PINs Blocked unless u have BAN account..
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 PIN blocking doesnt mean banned accounts by blocking it means registering it and not allowing it to be used by other operators thats been done by RIM to give networks exclusivity . When u use BIS ur PIN gets registered to a particular network , unless that networks makes the PIN free again to be used by other networks , u cant have BIS on other operators thats the whole point of having PIN number in first place this is in particular more pronounced among operators of same region eg i have bb8830 from sprint my PIN was free to be used as it was not used on sprint network , since i never had an account or had BIS ON SPRINT so i got BIS on vodafone , now my PIN is registered with them or best wait till TOUR comes out and take it to any other GSM operator besides reliance for BIS , u will know what i m saying

shubhanyu 13 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Am having a hunch this Tour is what the GSM players call Bold? Appears like a ditto copy just with a CDMA radio, and if that is, I'm a happy camper !

Sadikk 301 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 egi have bb8830 from sprint My customers using Sprint Tour with Vodafone and airtel already with BIS... Get 2 months BlackBerry Internet Service on CDMA network for free if you pre-book between October 7th to October 31st! guys before buying this device please take demo once.. As i felt its lil uncomfortable using its Keyboard on Sprint Tour.. true we will get use to it soon.. but i dont think we will get pleasure of 8830 keyboard on this ever.. just a precautionary measure as its highly priced.. Also USA Tours are getting dumped in india.. and they are getting ready for Track pad version and wi-fi version of tour called ESSEX... So tour is already out in my whole opinion.. Take ur decision wisely.. Chao..
venkeebabu 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 thanks for the Update Is it as good as BlackBerry Bold? And any chance of geting them through U ( unlocked handsets) regards Venks
Arun 795 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 I've asked the opinion of a person who has used BB 8830, Bold and Tour... he says Tour is just too good above the rest.
Sadikk 301 Report post Posted October 7, 2009 Well for me Tour was lil uncomfortable.. dont know if its only for me as my thumb is large.. But i still feel 8830 Keyboard is and will remain best of all BBs.. I achieved unbelievable speed on it.. some guys just get shock of their life watching my typing on my BB... no doubt Tour is far advance in OS and memory though.. (i might go for BOLD instead if not Tour.. am confused now)

Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted October 8, 2009 well i saw and played with the reliance bb tour the phone is just awesome and i found the keyboard very very comfortable to type on i kept both phones ( bb tour and bb 8830) side by side , and i found that keys on tour were bit smaller but still they were very comfortable to type on to. not to mention keys on 8830 feel to plasticky as compared to keys on tour it looks like javelin and has keys of bb bold overall nice handset for reliance bis users
