phonegeek 588 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 Hi Guys, Read about this service yesterday in Newspaper. They are providing unlimited transfer at 1MBPS speed for Rs 500. I think its the lowest rates among all service providers. More info here I have never heard about this co and have doubt whether they can provide quality service at this prices. So, if anyone is using this service, please post their experience for benefit for everyone .

aviator 3 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 I think BSNL EVDO is a better bet. They charge 550 rs. for unlinited download @ 2mbps. Also, the name is reliable and its mobility makes it worth.
Greatest 55 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 India is still not ready properly for wireless broadband... Wired broadband is much better than wireless at the moment atleast.. I am using BSNL EVDO... its not that great... also, it depends on the number of towers it has in a particular place... Here, in my office, I have very good connectivity, whereas in my home the connection s**ks... even dialup is far better.. But as u said, im using it only to download unlimited, movies, games, etc... its a bargain at 650+taxes.... (550 is for older customers, and even they will be charged 650 from january onwards)... aviator 3 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Dear Mufaddalji, Here's the link : http://www.bsnlevdo.in/ As u knw bsnl doesn't even care for opening a site about it, so its an unofficial site. As greatest said, connectivity at certain places is an issue, but i am getting good connectivity at home as well as office. Speed is awesome. M getting download speeds as high as 120Kbps. I use torrents and thatz the pain point. Earlier, the out ports were blocked. So, downloading from torrents was very painful (speed was max upto 10-15 kbps) but nw, they have been opened, i suppose, as i am geeting speed of 65-70kbps. Heard that its still in testing phase, so bsnl is throwing it away at cheap prices but to be true, i have been using it for 6 months now and have not faced any prob. Add to it, now national roaming is activated on EVDO (earlier it ws nt there). And thats nt all, if u dont get EVDO coverage in certain rural areas, u can use it on 1x mode which is available everywhere. U have to visit ur nearest exchange to get it............... Here's a quick guide : Evolution-Data Optimized or Evolution-Data only, abbreviated as EV-DO or EVDO is a standard for high speed wireless broadband. BSNL offers Data services on CDMA 2000 1X technology. A customer can avail these services by using EVDO Cards with surfing speed upto 2.4 Mbps. Now, BSNL is also offering roaming facility on these cards. Charges : Activation Charge - Rs.500 Sale Price of Wireless Card - Rs.3500 Monthly Charges - Rs.650 Alternate option: (Rental Basis) Monthly Charges - Rs.850 Security Deposit (Refundable) - Rs.1000 Internet Usage - Unlimited Roaming * - National (free) * as per technical feasibility Note : Sales tax extra. Modem Specs : BSNL offers two types of EVDO modems. 1. USB type Data Card 2. Express / PCMCIA Data Card (Availability is less) USB type : Frequency: 450MHz/ 800MHz Dimension: 80mm×36mm×13mm Weight: 40g CDMA2000 1X/EVDO Rel.0 Network USB Interface for desktop and laptop Data, voice and SMS function (optional) Up to 2.4Mbps data rate O/S: Win 2000/XP/Vista

Honest 836 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 My dear friends, in Mumbai Nivyah Broadband service is not available throughout the city. Right now its available in Limited Localities only.
Arun 795 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Two days before the site was opening properly, but today the site is infected Look like they are inspired by Reliance for goof ups....... The website was infected when I checked more than a month ago but it wasn't on the day when this topic was posted. I think they got relisted by StopBadware.org (used by Google/Mozilla) now, so the browser may have downloaded the malwares to your PC if you accessed the website earlier and don't have anti-virus software. yeah , i was asking abt nivyah broadband i will never go for bsnl evdo data cards i need good wired broadband alternatives like these If you don't have VERY GOOD EVDO signals at your place then yes don't go for it. Since Sadik has contacts with the operators of Nivyah he may be able to ask someone to check the feasibility in your area. Check with him.
