How To Get Data On Palm

I had bought my Pixi plus from Sadik bhai recently with voice working. I tried steps as mentioned in first post. The phone was detected but windows (Win XP) is not accepting the drivers (when prompted I had shown the location). I even tried to edit the inf files as per post #14, but still no success.

And now even voice is not working. The signal bars are not visible on the screen.

Need help in restoring voice service.

Is there any other set of driver files that can be tried?

Also, even commands like ##usbpass# and ##000000# etc are also not working on the handset.

Ur Post #76 u mention that voice is working and this time u says voice not working what is the problem for voice.

Voice was working earlier but has stopped now. Got the driver files from Sadik bhai yesterday. But seems like the phone will have to be hard reset since ## codes are still not working.

Problem with voice is that I am not getting the signal bars at all. Either the radio is not on or else it is not latching onto reliance network. I tried switching on and off airplane mode but it did not help.

Is it possible to get proxy based internet access on palm pixi?

Regular internet tariff for Tata is 40 paisa per min where as if we use proxy based (wapuser), then its 10p/10kb.

Time based charging doesnt makes sense at all. Is there any way out in TI so that data can be used on basis of volume & not time??

I am a verizon palm pixi user, trying to get 1x data on my phone, but i am unable to connect to qpst 2.7, after connecting my phone in usb mode to my laptop, and initialising qpst config when i type ##USBPASS# nothing happens, i even tried typing ##8727277# as mentioned on this thread, kindly guide me as how to connect to qpst, could there be a problem with qualcom file that i downloaded as there are several versions available, which one to download.

Have you already done the activation bypass or installed any bypass rom ?

I had the same problem when trying to press ##8727277# without bypassing the activation. Once bypassed the popup menu comes after a while after pressing the code. Keep the keygen and put the S.No. handy. Rememember tts case senstitive. PM me if you need more help.

My pixi is working on reliance and running web os 1.4.5 i had installed the activation bye pass tool after downloading from rim web only, still i am not able to connect to qpst.

so here is a simple to do guide to get 1x data on palm pre for reliance and also for tata

pre requirements

1) palm pre running webos 1.1 or 1.2

( u can just use update program on pre and do OTA update which is safe)

2) palm pre DIAG drivers

3) root acess

4) qpst 2.7

1) connect ur palm pre to qpst

now i m tired of mentioning it again and again on how to root a pre for programming

here i m writing it in simple steps

a) install palm sdk on ur pc

make sure u have latest version of java on ur pc

c) once sdk is installed its very simple to gain root access

on ur palm pre enter developer mode

to do so from ur keyboard type konami code

upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart

it will show developer mode icon , turn it on

d) go to startmenu --run --type cmd

e) it will open up command prompt

f) just type following

cd \program files\palm\sdk\bin

then type the following

novacom -t open tty://

now it will show

root@castle:/# ←[J

now just type

mpt d userserial

done it will ask u for pre drivers and direct to to location where u have it

g) now just go to qpst and connect to corresponding com port

2) setting data in qpst

when data isn't provisioned on palm pre , u will just see signal bars and battery indicator thats all

1) open up qpst

2) press read from phone , it will ask for spc code , put in 000000 or whatever spc u have

3) go to mip tab and in "mobile ip behaviour" select "simple ip only"

4) u will see user profiles , click on profile 1 and press edit

5) it will open up profile 1 edit screen , clcik tab profile enable

6) in NAI write xyz@sprintpcs.com

7) teethered NAI xyz@modem sprintpcs.com

8) check rev tunnel preferred

9) make primary HA HOME HA AND SECONDARY HA ADDRESS 0.0.0.0

10) press ok and click write to phone

11) now go to ppp tab u will see an option of username and password, go to UM and AN TABS and write username and password , in this case i wrote it as

username - UTS@ relianceinfo.com

password- i4gE7DW

( u can put any other username password)

click write to phone

12) now press read from phone tab and make sure all settings are there

3) setting up data on handset

1) from ur phone dialpad dial ##evdo# ie ##3836#

and select 1xrtt

2) from ur phone dialpad dial ##data#

go to browser and zero PRIMARY /SECONDAY NCG and ports

done now reboot ur phone

if all settings are configured properly ur data will start working

u will see a 1x sign next to signal bars

( 1x sign indicates data is activated , if u dont see1x sign it means ur settings are not proper)

Earlier you said you couldn't get the USBPASS to get working. I guess you are able to do that now. If you need more help PM me. I might help you through teamviewer.

Hi. I have a palm pixi plus handset. I got its meid registered by someone on this forum. The meid has been succesfully registered with reliance (getstat rsn checked). But I have been waiting for the programming of the handset since a week. I am sure that eventually Sir will be able to squeeze time for the requisite programming. Meanwhile I have been requesting him for mailing me the details so that I tackle the qpst myself and save him the trouble. I am yet to receive a response since last week. Nonetheless, can anybody help me with the AKEY and rest of the details required for the programming ?

Inserting Akey takes only 5min, main work is restoring your original meid, which is going to take time, it may take 1hr it may take 10hrs.

you cannot do meid restore with QPST, If you want I can mail you the method to restore MEID, but its time consuming method .

i have tried the whole method, but does't work, it stucked in midway because when it asked for Palm Pixi Plus Driver (which unfortunately i don't found anywhere) i don't found in my system and it also does't accept Palm Pre Drivers given in the listed method. After doing that half, i lost my USB connectivity with PC (it is not showing USB connectivity when i connected my Phone to PC). After that i have again installed OS through Palm Website and reburn the OS and again used byepass tool.

if you have copied from web there is a gap i have marked in red del it and it will work
