Airtel Coverage Problem

Recommended Posts

From last November, I am facing Airtel signal problem in my office. The coverage used to be perfect before that. I had complained several times to customer care and Nodal officer. Airtel engineers have come to my office. The problem they stated was - a cell site near my office has been switched off due to problems with the land owner. They said the problem with the land owner will be sorted out soon and the cell site would be activated. But it is too long and now whenever I complain, they register the complaint, a technical person comes to my office and repeats the same thing. I am fed up.

Actually I am having a CUG group within my family and friends. So if I change the operator, I will lose the free CUG calling within my family and friends. For just my number I cannot force all my group members to change the operator and number.

Other than my office, I am having perfect coverage of Airtel.

How can I make Airtel to take some concrete action to reactivate the cell site near my office? Or install a new cell site near my office? Is this possible?

yes this thing is possible. since you have postpaid numbers with CUG so you can threaten them saying that since you are not getting coverage so you are going to switch the operator.

Threatening them with termination mostly works. try your luck.

@ganesan,

Threaten them in a manner that it hurts their pride. Tell them because of their lethargic inaction, you are being forced to switch operators even though you are satisfied with their services and also highlight the recent simple plans of RCOM to drive home the point that you are getting better deals elsewhere. Try your luck... All the best.....

Ya I am trying all the above.

See one funny thing is Airtel has marked Virudhunagar as non-serviceable area for post-paid. No dealer here for Airtel post-paid. So they dont give new post-paid connections. 3 months back I fought with Airtel for 2 new post-paid connections, but they never gave. Some 10 others towns in Tamilnadu has been marked as non-servicable for post-paid and they donot provide new post-paid. Existing post-paid connections can continue.

Actually whenever I complain by email or to CC, they send some person, but they are not taking the final decision. The Airtel engineer says he everytime sends report that the cell site needs to be activated or new one installed to solve this problem. He says top people are not taking strong action.

Well I will keep on trying... lets see
