kesav 127 Report post Posted November 5, 2009 (edited) even not half way near to any of reliance plans.... I completely didn't understand your point. Reliance never gives local at 30p/min. This one from TATA is ultimate. Local at 30ps that too under 2 second pulse. Just terrific.......Can any other operator match ?? KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted November 5, 2009 I would put it this way, Rs 55 STV means you can use it for 91.67 minutes or 5500 secs in PPS plans. If an average user doubles this usage, he can recover the cost of the STV. DoCoMo has brought this STV fearing Uninor which is also likely to offer the same as default plan when they launch services in mid Nov.'09. And so what, even RCOM will match these STVs with far better deals.... Lets wait and watch and enjoyyyyyyy as these operators are slugging it out.
anshu_s09 18 Report post Posted November 5, 2009 I am not against any plan but to recover one will have to double his use, what will happen if some month his use is ver less or he is in roaming... still i think rcom is offering better tarrif.... i might be some 1 will like airtel some one will like docomo but considering network call quality and one time invertment rcom tarrif is better, atlst for me... anyway ultimate benefit is for the consumer... so enjoy and cheer up
kesav 127 Report post Posted November 5, 2009 (edited) This move by TATA will certainly open up can of worms at the policy level and at competition level. At competition level, I feel only Reliance can match it if not better it. Even for Reliance its very difficult for the below reason. The gap between termination charge (20p/min) and sales price (1p/min(if call ends within 2 seconds) -- 30p/min)in this STV is just 10p max and that's the reason they're getting Rs.49.9(substracting service tax Rs.5.1 from voucher) in advance. At the policy level, DoT and TRAI should be proactive and try to reduce the termination charge to 0.2p/sec (works outs to 12p/min)immediately. It is just ridiculous when the pulse to customer is in seconds, the termination charge pulse is in minute. This is the only way so that new operators will have some gap to breath in. As usual anti-customer Cartel (Airtel,Vodafone and Idea) will shed crocodile tears which policy makers must ignore it. Hope people in TRAI and DoT are listening. KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 At the policy level, DoT and TRAI should be proactive and try to reduce the termination charge to 0.2p/sec (works outs to 12p/min)immediately. It is just ridiculous when the pulse to customer is in seconds, the termination charge pulse is in minute. Even though, I doubt that termination charges to be calculated per second, TRAI needs to reduce the same to 10p/min and STD @ 20p/min, so that the other three new operators can at least struggle some time before they die... If that is done, the new operators death will be confirmed by Reliance's new Simple plans with 25p/min local/STD/SMS/Roam plan...
