::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted November 18, 2009 But doed that allow u to avail of BIS/BES services ? No, becoz it will not change your pin, which is require for BIS/BES. Currently there is no solution for changing PIN in BB. This is only official rom for reliance user. in my post i have clearly written no hacks cracks here. Does it make any diff if I install the this official release on my Sprint BB8830 from Sadik ji. Will there be any specific enhancement or major difference from my existing Sprint 4.5.0.175 to Reliance. Anything country or carrier specific applications in this Reliance release or will it be possible to use reliance mobile world. Regards

KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted November 19, 2009 , All the above posts are adding / quoting the previous post while replying. It only makes the page to load late on one hand and on the other hand, the server/system also will become slow if everyone were to quote the previous post into-to... It would be better if people who post here use the while replying to the immediate post above them. Hope people here take it in the right spirit.

Yesterday evening I got it and out of curiosity I had put my reliance CDMA sim card in the sim slot and now it doesnt boot at all, all I could see is blinking redlight and hourglass popping every now and then... for a moment I thought its going to be no better than a paper weight! ::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 ^^^ In 8830 sim slot is for GSM not for CDMA, To active CDMA, you have to program in NV.
Dr.Gagan 17 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 hitesh you can search old topic certain ruim series work in the sim slot. the slot can take both uim or sim and intelligently differentiate between the two.
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) ^^^ Dr sahab, you are talking about 8830 ? If yes, it will never happen in 8830, as it is an world phone, that slot it for GSM only. for CDMA you have to do programing in it. you must be talking about only CDMA phones with uim slot phones which can use uim and programing both(but not at a same time). One of the example o http://www.rimweb.in...p-classic-2258/ Or phone which have capabilities of cdma and gsm in on slot (spice d-6666) LINK But BB 8830 will not support uim card in gsm card slot. i am ready to bet on this. Sadikk 301 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 that slot it for GSM only Slots are to read smart card.. which we know as RUIM or SIM card.. and yes 8830 can be used with most of the latest RUIM/SIM cards on CDMA.. like MTS Reliance and Tata.. Mostly OMH card works in first attepmt.. but lil confusion on selecting the network we always suggest and prefer that CDMA number shud be in NV.. Thanks for the input guys..
