Tata Does It Again. No.1 For 3rd Consecutive Month

Recommended Posts

TTSL makes it to the top for the third consecutive month; India adds 16 mn subscribers in Oct

Tata Teleservices managed to match its success in August and September as it roped in 3.8 million new subscribers in October making it the operator with the highest numbers for the month.

Vodafone followed with additions of 2.98 million subscriber additions while market leader Bharti Airtel’s subscriber additions were 2.7 million.

Reliance Communications was left behind in the race as it managed only 2.1 million additions for the month.

Collectively the wireless subscriber base in India increased by 16 million.

TATA continues to rock.

:clap::clap::clap:

Its surprising to see Reliance lurching at fourth place inspite of Simply Reliance plan.

:(:(:(

Here's another article on the same topic.

If you look at the subscriber figures at the end of october, you can notice following points.

1) Vodafone is closing in on Reliance

2) Idea is very close to BSNL

3) TATA is closing in on Idea

Its great competition to observe.

I am a little surprised that Reliance has ablt to manage only 2.1 million especially in the backdrop of the SIMPLE per minute tariff which was introduced on October 5th.

Let us wait and see the figures for the next month because that would reflect figures for the pay per second and pay per call schemes as well.

I really feel that it is got to do more with reputation that Reliance is underperforming the others inspite of having the best schemes in town...........

Reliance has to do something or the other to get back that reputation and take their customer service to the next level esle it might be too late!!!!!!!!!!!!

i too agree reliance is not able to ecash the best schemes because of the reputation. also another fact behind the nos is that GSM lobby can go dirty to any extent to get the customer base. where as Relaince doesn't play many dirty games to get the customer base. mass market doesn't know the diff between CDMA and GSM. they have just simple impression that if they go for reliance they have to purchase the new handset which will work only with the reliance. it's not about dumb it's about the mass market

I agree with you!!!!!!

The other day I had a tough time explaining to a friend that when you are buying a reliance gsm connection there is no necessity to buy a handset. At last I told him, "GSM no handset, CDMA handset purchase".

I also told him about Open Market Handsets in CDMA but god alone knows how much he understood!!!!!:)

U are right.... I once had a very very very bad experience with Reliance Postpaid (During Mukesh Ambani period) connection, eg: charging Rs506.50 instead of Rs500 for DAPO rent for one particular month (EVEN CC people didnt know why Rs6.50 was charged Extra @ that time) :rofl_200: , Late FEES even though I paid my bill 10 days before due date always, Internet usage charges for 2 hours-even though I used NEITHER R-World NOR data-cable (R-World is FREE for me as a DAPO user), Charged for roaming in Hyderabad--even I didnt gone to Andhra @ that time :Riendo::Contento: ... I was using their 6 digit mobile-number @ that time and they changed that to 10 digit... Anyway I have to inform the new 10 digit number to my clients, so I broke & threw my RIM NOKIA phone and got BSNL postpaid connection... :Equivocado::Ohhhh::NOTriste:

Even though the Reliance is offering nice plans now, I am just urging TATA to follow them and am not in a mood to get yet another Reliance connection especially post-paid... :Decepcionado:

it depend's on person to person.

well all the operators were deducting the same amount for topups. and it was GSM lobby who started the deduction of Rs 5 on topup of Rs 10. and we know that Tata CDMA has very poor network. and Tata GSM(DOCOMO) doesn't have PAN india presense. And Relaince created the revolution in the indian telecom market. because of Relaince Mobiles became the common man's phone. today anyone can afford mobile. :)
