Mtnl To Launch India’s First 50 Mbps Broadband In Mumbai

Mumbai’s number one Broadband and telecom service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) is all set to launch 50 Mbps extraordinary High-Speed Broadband service using VDSL technology in Mumbai telecom circle.

MTNL today announced that it has geared up to upgrade the existing ADSL network to VDSL Broadband network which can offer up to 50 Mbps download speeds and uploads up to 12 Mbps within the distance of 1 Km from telephone exchange.

The VDSL or VHDSL (Very High Bitrate DSL), on the other hand, is the next-generation technology which is capable of supporting high bandwidth applications like HDTV

The operator also announced that it has planned to offer this service at very competitive rate and will be quite useful for corporate & business houses that may also use it as backup of their Internet Leased Line.

MTNL Broadband Internet service currently offers maximum 4 Mbps to its customers in Mumbai. The new service will offer twelve time faster from this speed and will help Broadcasting HDTV which requires higher bandwidth than the normal 8 Mbps.

It seems MTNL’s Broadband Unit is working out the price for the new 50Mbps broadband offer. Presently, MTNL Mumbai is the largest Broadband service provider in Mumbai and it has 4.02 lakhs Broadband connections in the city. The new service will help MTNL to offer Super Fast Broadband service.

MTNL Mumbai’s Broadband Unit also inviting the interested corporate houses further queries or Customized tariff Plans with indicating demand, they can contact just by a mail on vdsl@mtnl.net.in with their full contact details and address.

Good info sir,

But in my area BSNL is present, good news for Mumbai and Delhi Only.

Any good full form of BSNL like MTNL - Mera Telephone Nahi lagata.

What is the download limit? 500 mb?

its definitely going to be expensive compare to current charges. there cannot be download cap on such plans. this like you are given a F1 car but you cant go beyond 50...

First tell them to fully utilize there adsl2+ infrastructure.

Where are 24mbps(adsl2+) plans?

where are adsl(8mbps) plans?

There copper infrastructure is old. Uppar se lineman baap re baap
