ketandjain 1 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Hi, I recently purchased an unlocked verizon bb 9630 runnining os v.4.7.1.61. And I want to use it on Reliance GSM service. I checked the unlock status by going to Options>Advanced Options>SIM Card> M E P D. It showed the following: SIM Card: Security Disabled ID: <19 digit number> Personalisation: SIM Disabled Network Inactive Network Subset Disabled Service Provider Disabled Corpoate Disabled I got the bb plan activated. My voice and sms service is working fine. However the edge is coming as "edge" and not "EDGE". The Host Routing Table is all empty and "Register Now" does no good. The double arrowed symbol near network bars is coming now and then. The technical team has taken my BB Pin, IMEI#, IMSI_S#, and made me hard boot like 3875 times. They are still not able to get the bloody edge capitalized. My phone shows "Activation Required". And dialing *228, comes with a reply asking me to add area code before the number. Please help me because the reliance technical team has no clue what to do and all they say is we are not able to locate your phone. Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 from the settings that u have posted its for cdma from what i know they wont have any impact on ur gsm part if u getting edge in small letters that means ur bb is trying to connect to bb servers but not established connection with servers once its fully connected to servers edge would become EDGE also if ur bb services are not activated u could see only gprs/edge so first check with reliance dept if they have added ur 9630 pin to their database and started ur bb service , unless they add ur pin to their databse u cannot use BIS if they added pin to their database and u still cant access service then some issue with handset in that case try loading diff bb os on ur 9630 and see ( for shich u have to debrand first ) remember one thing for BIS the most imp thing is ur PIN , that has to be in the respective carrier's databse Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
