prakashkadam 1 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 but don't you think other than the chipset corby shares rest with its GSM sibling? ^^^ In CDMA company have to pay royalty to qualcomm. and also no much options are available so samsung want more earning from it. Royalty is not the reason for pricing CDMA phones at a premium. Royalty is just 2% so it should be in the range of 140-160 Rupees for a Rs.7K-8K phone. The premium pricing is due to lesser number of sales of CDMA handsets compared to GSM.
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 ^^^ all other things are almost same, but if company want to earn then what other can say, also their is no official compitation for their corby speed

sam909 2 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 I want to know whether there is any setting in Corby Speed by which we can have the SNS in pop up mode. Every where it is being written that corby speed is the cousin of corby touch GSM model. although GSM model has POP up SNS sites but I can't find the same in Corby Speed. Is there some way we could do that or it shall always open up the browser.

jainvikram98 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2010 Hi Hetal You seem to be the guru on the CDMA phones out here, nice going. My concern is a little different, I have the Samsung Corby CDMA, got the EVDO activated. I have set up a Dial up networking access, on my win xp on my laptop to #777, and i am easily able to connect to the net. The problem is my modem config settings dont allow me to set the max speed beyond 921000, whereas i need is 2300000, as you are aware. How do u connect beyond those speeds ?? and i am not able to access data services thru the samsung software, i am able synch send sms, and other stuff but cant connect. Secondly when u access youtube, somehow the volume output is pretty bad, even at full, i have to put my headphone with the kit at full vol to hear anything, cant seem to control the vol in the mini browser. Any Tips and advice?? bjagad 3 Report post Posted March 10, 2010 Hey all of you please read this before buying this corby speed phone. it has some features lacking. its not able to play video at resolution larger than 176x144 so what is the advantage of such big display(320x240), and still at the supported resolution the playback is not smooth. you will not be able to install applications in the memory card. applications like file explorer, media player etc. is not allowed to access phone memory or MMC. i have bought one before 15 days tried a lot to get what i wanted in it but failed. please keep in mind all above limitation and then only buy this phone. thanks
