For a personal PC I would recommend a XP OS its a good OS with very good library you almost don't need any driver to be installed for any other device attached if you have XP... try and get a Original version or a original code if you can and load Service packs and you have a very strong stable OS ready which has cool looks and features... (I think thats what you need in a home PC) Also for people having a slow computer just refer to Aug 04 Digit it'll help you make the system fast ... I left the **micro****** brigade when I was introduced to slackware in 1995. BTW how many of ya really know how **micro****** is good for invading your privacy and how good it's to even a script kidde who can make it beg on it's knee every month or so :-). Once they are familiar with Linux environment they can make decision whether to switch over to linux completely or not... Incidently Knoppix can also be installed fully on HDD.. When i tried to run Shell script file using ./<script_name> command, It showed Permission denied, when i tried to run it using sh <script_name>, it showed Line 55: Permission denied. PS: Line 55 containd command to execute BIN file. When i tried to execute the BIN file using exec <file_name> , it showed Permission denied. Pls give ur suggesstions. 26566[/snapback] Dear Vishal, Can you check the file permissions of your <bin> file, in this reference I am talking about firefox binary, it must be somewhere in you /usr/lib/fierefox-xxx/ ....... and if it's permission is not set to 755 then do chmod on it. It wud be better if you can change into that directory and execute command chmod +755 *. If all fails would you please give a pointer, from where ya downloaded this script, or is it from pristine firefox source or binary tar balls / rpm archive. Cheers..............
