amitnsonu 72 Report post Posted December 17, 2009 Hi guys, Recently I seen in an online ad of idea about these two plans 1. Supervalue 199 Rental 199 300 Local/STD Min free 200 Local/STD SMS free All local/std calls @50 paise/min All Roaming calls @60 paise/min All SMS @50 paise 2. Economy 199 Plus Rental 199 12000 Local/STD Seconds free 200 Local/STD SMS free All local/std calls @1 paise/sec All Roaming calls @1.2 paise/sec All SMS @60 paise These plans far better than any other GSM operator and somewhat comparable to Rcom. If anybody want to get rid of cdma phone(sade hue phone), can switch to any of these plans. nikhil0123456 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 all operators can match calling rates of reliance but the amazing thing about reliance is the sms rates, i.e. 1paise or 15000sms for 25/-. the only reason anyone would like to skip reliance cdma is the handset quality-absolutely hopeless, no good chioce, drains the battery within hours. A bit confused if reliance gsm has improved, heard a lot of problems about its network, any latest news??

dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 ^ higher priced!!! Airtel launched older Android Magic at 25K whereas Sadikk is giving the latest Hero for 19K; Airtel/Others wont launch Hero for less than 25K... well, I dont know what u r crying about; there's quite a good choice now in low end phones also (e.g. I saw some very good and reasonable Kaarbon Mobiles in CDMA/GSM dual); and as per your Idea, I have one Idea no. since last 10 years and would rate it as the most pathetic service provider I have encountered... manishag 17 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 All GSM Operators followers have you ever Heard about Idea in Leading some Price War or New Service. Idea is a Looser intially IDEA came up with real good proposition like IDEA I-Card(All SMS@25P), Idea My Gang(all SMS@10p). And old customers still enjoying the scheme. where as Bharti Launched something similar but worst then this because scheme was not applicable for SMS and this scheme was withdrawn even from existing customers after 1 year Idea was forced by the biggies(Bharti and Voda) to withdraw these plans for new customers. And in GSM only IDEA offered onnet free local but again forced by the Biggies
amitnsonu 72 Report post Posted December 19, 2009 Idea Cellular's network is poor, I'll say even poor than Reliance GSM I didnt agree Idea has far far better network than RGSM ? I use a RGSM connection and to use it I need to go on rooftop, inside home it even didnt show a single signal. it meant I was only to make outgoing calls, no incoming because in home no signal, that too was a postpaid connection. RGSM is totally CRAP.

dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted December 19, 2009 AFAIK there are handsets available from 500/- to 20K for CDMA; and that comparison I was giving to show you ur justification of price differential vis a vis` gsm... and we have latest (even more than gsm) handsets available for cdma... we create them if we r not given (if u understand my drift).... MOBILE FAN 42 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) I agree Dhiraj. But if one doesnt want to go either for lower end phones (below 2500) or higher end phone (above 10k) then for multimedia phones, CDMA has very limited choice (one or two LG and/or samsung). At that price point (arround 5/6k) GSM has hundred quality choices. Edited December 22, 2009 by MOBILE FAN
anuragz 4 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) I agree Dhiraj. But if one doesnt want to go either for lower end phones (below 2500) or higher end phone (above 10k) then for multimedia phones, CDMA has very limited choice (one or two LG and/or samsung). At that price point (arround 5/6k) GSM has hundred quality choices. I agree with MOBILE FAN. CDMA service providers do not provide handsets at competitive prices, moreover they do lock their handsets which are useless if u want to switch to other network. CDMA handsets are high priced BB 8830 is sold for 27k from TATA & Rel which we get for 10k from Sadikk. even samsung corby CDMA will also cost 10k whereas its GSM varient is about 6-7k. Nokia 6275 is still 10K but with much better features u will get a Nokia GSM phone for 5-6k Now if u r not a geek & u dont have friends in US & u cant unlock handsets & u r not a rimweb member & u dont know anyone called Sadikk & u r just a lay man who goes to market & buys a moblie phone just like any electronic item then in that case choices are very very limited in CDMA market. I bought a very basic Samsung GSM phone for Rs1400 (GURU) & I did bought a basic CDMA handset for same price (Huwai TATA) the difference in quality in both the handsets is vey wide. Now if u have a budget of 6k & i ask u to buy a good multimedia CDMA phone then u have no options in the market but for GSM there are dozens of handses in this range too.
