RSumit 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2004 I use DAP and am xperiencing a problem. When I click on any download link the dialogue box : Choose download type-[ REGULAR / ACCELERATED ] comes up and every thing is fine. . It even works with the automatic links (ones whic shows a page 'Your file is being downloaded.') But when ever I download from Download.com the regular windows open/save dialogue box comes up. If I right click and select 'download with dap then either the webpage only gets downloade or some file of size same of the software gets donloaded which isnt recognised by win. The same happens even when trying links from 'click here for more links' link. So seasoned DAP users Any solutions ?
karpar 1 Report post Posted October 30, 2004 What version of DAP do you use? If lesser than 7, I'd recommend you to get DAP7. That problem about the file not being recognised by Windows has been addressed already in this forum. Just search for "DAP" and you will surely find it. RSumit 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 Thanx shabbooo, ur process worked perfectly. The downloade files got named in numericals lik 2, 5 ,445 etc. I just renamed it along with the ext. of the actual downloaded file and bingo!
karpar 1 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 It works for me without any problem on download.com. The problem you mentioned is there when you try to save pages directly with DAP too. The solution is to rename the extension to .htm. Didn't realise that was your problem...
