Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 Friends, Today I talked to a few of the dealers in my area(Dwarka) and I was shocked to hear from them the following: 1. Municipal Corporation Of Delhi(MCD) has pulled down one of Tata's cell tower at Mahavir Enclave for non payment of a fine of Rs.1 lakh as the company had not taken prior permission for setting up the tower. 2.MCD had fixed a one time fine of Rs.1 lakh to regularize hundreds of such illegal towers of all operators. 3.The Tata Indicom and Virgin customers in this area are completely cut off for the last few days. 4.Such action is going to be repeated in many more areas in coming few days. KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 Well, Delhi seems very unlucky for Tata.. First they were not given even the start-up spectrum for launching Docomo in Delhi NCR.. Now this tower problem... I can't believe how a telco can install a tower without proper permission???
sumatrix 1 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 But tata is not the only telco operator who's towers are illegal.so y single them out??
starnet 7 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 Some employees of MCD or Maha Chor Department as it is also known as in Delhi must be very pissed off because of non-payment of "fees" by the landlord in whose premises tower was setup. So they may have decided to pull it down.

raccoon 53 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 One whole month to get connectivity back for the people in that area? Must've created major problems for subscribers... Have experienced such total outages only with Airtel here. Never with RCDMA or Idea, in so many years... at least not longer than a few minutes.
