Take out the ruim card/ switch to line 2 is all I can think of.

there are not any line2 switch in CDMA,its for only GSM.

you can use your handset with another blank sim or blocked sim or unprovisioned sim.

and if your purpose is to only stop incoming calls ,you can divert your call to another number which is switched off.

i want to use it for listening songs/FM when i travel.. [No incoming / outgoing calls]

sometimes i travel in no coverage areas and i do not want the phone to search network and eat battery..

I also use it for opera browsing.. so will be good if i can switch off / on network as when required..

Does the phone stops/reduces time - searching for network by changing the out of range timer values ??

Nice Idea Ramesh sir.. But how it is possible??? The simplest way is having a flight mode option in mobile.. NOKIA IS TOO BAD AND ARROGANT NOT TO INCLUDE THAT IN its high cost CDMA handsets too... Even Samsung Raaga has this feature...

the above settings can be changed in nokia cdma phones using Diego, but i do not know if it works..

i am trying all possible ways to find a solution..

I dont think its possible.. I remember using offline by punching *3001#12345# on phones when i use to make it offline..

But u wont be able to use any other feature lol..

but if u in low network area and want ur handset not to search network u can use this..

Flight mode is not only for aircraft traveling.

you can swich off your mobile radio (which catches the cdma signal),

and you can use other features of mobile,like word excel mp3 fm etc etc (features are depending on your mobile)

This will save your battery by not searching for network signals .

Also it can show caller as your mobile is switched off or out of network, but still you will be using your mobile.

Yes.. Plus, even if you do not want to use any phone feature, it is much better than switching OFF your mobile.. Because a reasonable amount of battery power will be used when switching back our phone ON.. If we use offline instead of switching phone OFF, that battery power will also be saved... So Offline mode is present even in some basic B&W handsets...

Mobile switch OFF will save more power than standby... But switching again phone ON will take more battery power than standby... Please try to switch OFF and back ON your mobile for 4 or 5 times and you can feel the difference... This effect is much much more in smartphones...

if phone is not used for many hours then switching off will be better, for short time we can use standby..

some options are available in display settings, stand by mode setting, screensaver off, back-lit timer..
