Flash Flushed By Ad-blocker

Recommended Posts

Guys

Stuck in a strange problem.

Few days back I installed a adblocker (Video AdsBlocker v1b) from Download.com.

But it started blocking all flashes(even the flash presentation on relianceinfo front page) and flash games on IE6 eve though it was working in Firefox/Opera. So I uninstalled it properly.

But even after it got uninstalled I can't view the flash items on IE6 but they work well in Opera/Firefox.

Please help me....are some stupid part of the program still stuck in my IE settings... get me a solution...pleeeeese :D

Thats why you should always use an uninstaller ...though even then there is no guarantee... As for a solution now, the 1st thing you could try: re-install Macromedia Flash Player...

Go to Drive:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS and check for the plugin that might have been left by the s/w.

U can also do one thing:

Open "Internet Explorer", goto "Tools->Internet Options", goto "Advanced" tab, and uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions"

Check it.

I checked out \Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS for the relevant plugin but there were only quick time plugins.

I also disabled 3rd party browser xtensions as per Vishal but it didn't work.

I've not yet followed racoons process... hope it works.

Any other suggestions.

BTW I'd used the Add/Remove program to remove the software.

There are many other things you could try. But 1st you should try reinstalling, as I suggested earlier. Try cleaning out ur registry ...if you are using 98 (not too sure about XP) you can use scanreg (with switches) ...specialised software tools to do that would be more effective though. You could also get into the registry and do some cleaning manually...

If u r using win98 and IE6, then goto control panel and open add/remove programs applet, and select Microsoft Internet explorer 6 (or something like that) and select it and click on add/remove button, and select to repair it.
