Reliance Introduces Cartoon Network Comics On Gsm Mobiles

Reliance Mobile the GSM and CDMA mobile service brand of Reliance Communications (RCOM) today announced the launch of Cartoon Network Comics on mobile as VAS content sharing wherein all popular comics will be provided to its GSM mobile subscribers across India in association with Nazara Technologies. Reliance Mobile provides the customized application allowing GSM subscribers to download an entire comic to read in one go. By subscribing to the service, users can read Cartoon Network’s Ben 10, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Laboratory and the Powerpuff Girls at a subscription price of Re 1 per day. Not just these, users can also read the popular Archie’s series on their mobiles at a subscription price of Re 1 per day.

After the subscribing the service, Reliance Mobile customer will receive one comic strip from each of the titles mentioned everyday. The subscription option is valid for a month. A comic book will be divided into a number of pages and each page will be divided into two screens, the visual and its text. Regardless of the subscription date, users can read from page one of the first comic books.

Speaking on the launch of the service, Mr. Krishna Durbha, Head – VAS, Reliance Communications said, “Reliance Communications believes in providing subscribers with the most exciting services. With the launch of Comics on Mobiles service, subscribers can now be transported to the imaginary world of comics by merely pressing a button.

TATA DOCOMO introduces DOCOMICS so Rcom goes with Cartoon network.

Its really a war between telcos !!

Didn't quite understand... how are they going to send the visuals (pics?) that would make up these comics? :confuse:

Another useless service.Another potential weapon to rob unsuspecting customers of Re.1/day.
