raccoon 53 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Wow, that must be the lowest per minute tariff, currently! Hope MTS comes to Maharashtra circle soon. But I won't be too keen to go back to CDMA...
KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Himanshu Ji... You forget about ServiceTax 10.3% for the Rs94/- pack... Which brings the true value of recharge or the money to MTS's pocket is just Rs85.22, which includes dealer margin, etc... So the effective call charge will be just 23.67paisa Further if you reduce the dealer margin, the charge will be close to 22p/min Since IUC for local calls is 20p/min, the margin for MTS will be just 2p/min (MTS gets 22p from us and give the 20p to receiving operator)... So this offer helps other operators MORE than for MTS itself... All due to heavy competition in market
savramesh 37 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) (MTS gets 22p from us and give the 20p to receiving operator). heard that they accumulate all calls in secs and then pay 20p/min.. or they pay 20p for every call per min? me_saket 73 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 same case with tata oindicom in maharashtra. they introducred new STV of RS66, where all local calls at Just 20p/min for 30days. and if recharge for TT is of RS225, then TT is 225. so Rs225+66=291. TT 225. number of calls with 0.2/min 225/0.2=1125min. so In RS291, u get 1125minute of local call, so effective rate is 25.86paise/min. and true rate is 291-10.3% service tax = RS263 effective rate is 23.45p/min. after deducting dealer commission it would be 22p/min. And if Rs225 TT ia having same vailidity as that of ur account. so no complustion to use RS225/1125min in one month...
Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 (MTS gets 22p from us and give the 20p to receiving operator). heard that they accumulate all calls in secs and then pay 20p/min.. or they pay 20p for every call ? Absolutely right. Further by my knowledge, the companies pay each other only after balancing out their total calls against each other. For instance if Rcomm calls Airtel for 10 mins and Airtel calls Rcomm for 10 mins over a month, they pay each other nothing. Similarly, If Rcomm calls 12 and Airtel calls 10, Rcomm pays for 2 mins of IUC.... In fact this practice dupes govt on service tax that each operator has to pay cos for a lower amount of IUC govt gets lower revenues because the service providers have adjusted their minutes of calls against each other. raccoon 53 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 I don't think "dupes" is the right word to use. Anyways, the legality of that aside, maybe its for the best, as the lower taxes they pay, the lower tariffs they can pass to us customers.
