::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 ^^^ Most of the shop keeper will say not available , as their earning from it will be very very less.
KanagaDeepan 1,084 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Yes Hitesh Ji... But apart from the earnings, the demand will be more, they have to work more, especially if it easy-recharge, which will take atleast 3-5 minutes-->Noting number, sending SMS, getting confirmation, buying money.. All these for a transaction of Rs5/- Thats why they won't give intrest to such offers imho...
raccoon 53 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) ^^^ Most of the shop keeper will say not available , as their earning from it will be very very less. Absolutely! Dont these %@#$# companies realize that its VERY difficult to get these tiny recharges done!? They really need to implement other ways like letting you activate it by SMS (or calling specific no.) and deducting the charge from main balance (like RCom is doing for its SMS packs) and/or allowing such recharges to be done thru Netbanking. I really got fed up of those Rs. 8 recharges with Airtel. Shopkeepers either give some excuse or outright demand extra money for such recharges. Besides I don't even have time to go to shops for such nonsense. It was one of the reasons I got rid of Airtel and got RGSM. ::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Talking of earning in Rs 5 recharge, Rs 4.5 will go to customer, so left only 50paisa as per my info recharger(shopkeeper) get only 3% of the recharge value. that means earning of recharger is only 15paisa. and 35paisa for service provider. its a loss business for both (shopkeeper and service provider) Why they are doing like this.. Only to get few peoples who don't afford mobile phone ?
raccoon 53 Report post Posted January 29, 2010  Well, to split hair, Rs. 4.5 goes to the customer as TT. So obviously the telco will earn a bit on the calls made on that TT. So actual earning will be higher than 35 p. Btw, aren't you forgetting the service tax?

::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 ^^^ I compliantly forgot about it, thanks for noticing it. then my full calculation is wrong ! in Rs 5 recharge card Rs4.5 is TT and 50Paisa is Service tax. So service provider will get money only from calls. But shopkeepers profit will be same, as it only given on MRP of recharge voucher.
Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Shopkeeper dint refuse me for this recharge..In fact he was displaying the pamphlets at his store... I guess if someone does a daily recharge(low end users mostly) for a month he spends Rs.150 and over all gets Rs.135 which is not bad given the call rates are very low.. These are indeed desperate times for telecom operators.
@mitJ@in 256 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 in Reliance. One time recharge 48 STV to get 50p Local STD ROaming SMS @ 50p forever and 100% TT on rechrge.
Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 We all knew that!!... Thanks for the info though.
manishag 17 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Well in recharge is margin is may be 3% which seems to be low. but think in terms of ROI because normally shopkeepers can rotate the money atleast 10 times in a month so effectively getting 30% ROI. through small recharge they can increase the ROI.
