raccoon 53 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 This is exceedingly irritating - our BSNL landline phone has been dead (no dial tone, however broadband works) since today morning. Now the most awesome thing is that there does not seem to be any way of registering a complaint about it thru a non-BSNL landline!! Just how lame can they get?? Whats more, though my dad tried 198 thru some other landline phone, complaint registration was not successful. And now there is no BSNL landline phone here. They don't seem to have any method of accepting complaints thru email or thru the website. And the numbers of Customer Service Centres given on their website do not work!! What exactly do these sarkari morons expect? That a custome should launch a city wide hunt for a BSNL landline just to register a complaint?? Does anybody from Poona have some frigging idea about how to register a complaint with BSNL if there is no access to a BSNL landline?
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 In Chennai, we have 1504 for BB complaints and 1500 for LL complaints. The alternate numbers are 2430 1504 and 24301500 for calling from other networks. Check your Maha BSNL website for something similar there. Or alternately, you will have to register from a neighbour's BSNL LL as the last resort. Finally, last resort would be to look out for the lineman and grease him to get your LL up and running. Nothing can beat this. Cool it, brother. Such and even worse things are to be expected from BSNL always. :rofl_200: Anyway for my info, how is your BB working when the LL is conked? I always thought that even the tiniest of static on the LL would render the BB unusable. Atleast in my case, it is so.
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 where are you in pune, every area has their own exchange, it will be better if you go directly to their exchange and make a complaint, also as Kumaar Shah says, catch a line men, give him some Rs. he will do your work, By the way some line mens are too good, they will not ask for anything. raccoon 53 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Well, the call centre number is 1500 here too. Automatic complaint registration is on 198. But these are useless unless you have another working BSNL landline. The other numbers you mentioned are almost certainly not useful for Poona. I wasted several minutes on the 2 BSNL websites and found no way at all to register a complaint from any non BSNL landlines. AFAIK, only 1 neighbor has BSNL landline, and they are out for work. Not many people have landlines these days... and even if they do, they are no necessarily BSNL. I am not ready to grease the linesman with anything other than black automotive grease. Have no idea where to find them either. If they don't fix it they can take their stupid phone and get the heck away with my choicest cuss words. As for what you asked - there is no dial tone on the line, however it is live, in that the line has a voltage. Broad band seems to be working well in spite of that. This has happened before too (ie. phone is "dead" but BB works). However, I am facing some other issues with it... which may (or may not) be due to their modem (Huawei). Our phone comes under MKR and I'm in Kothrud. Not exactly v near... and really don't have the time to go to the exchange. Anyway, its almost closing time now. BSNL is disgusting! Will save the links for future use. Can't try it now as the phone is now working. As for the Customer Care centre numbers in the Excel sheet you posted, are not useful as the number given is no longer working. In fact they keep changing the numbers of their officers as a hobby and making our lives difficult.
