savramesh 37 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 Source We have been hearing about Nokia's C-Series for quite some time now. It was first heard of back in July when Nokia was caught trying to patent its X and C-Series brands. While we are aware of what the X-Series would be like, little was known about the C-Series. On February 3, a leaked image of what is thought to be one of the first C-Series devices to be launched by Nokia started doing the rounds of the Interweb. The phone in the pictures is known as the C5. The C5 looks like a very compact candy bar phone running Series 60. What is confusing is the need fro the C-Series naming scheme. We wonder what the C-Series stands for. The E-Series and the N-Series for example stand for "Enterprise" and "Entertainment" respectively (The "En" from Entertainment was replaced by an "N" in case of the latter). From what we have seen from the leaked photos, the phone seems to be very compact. So, is the C-Series a new line-up of compact devices? Well, we're just guessing! As for the C5, the phone seems to be decently spec-ed. It features a not so large 2.2 -inch QVGA display, a 3.2 megapixel camera (more than enough, if it's a good one!), HSPA and FM Radio. Also included are a 3.5mm jack and support for microSD cards to increase the 50MB internal memory. This one might just be released in the months to come. Nokia has scheduled its own press event as an alternative to the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona in which is it not participating. Hopefully, the C-Series would be officially announced there. savramesh 37 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Nokia C6 to be officially unveiled at MWC? Nokia plans to include one more handset to their already impressive array of devices. All About Phones cites that this mobile phone is none other than Nokia C6, a phone to be encompassed in the Nokia C-series. This was reported by Engadget. Supposedly, this handset was initially named as Mystic prior to finalizing on Nokia C6. But a new update claims that Mystic and Nokia C6 are different phones altogether. The device sports a QWERTY keyboard and a 5-megapixel camera. This touchscreen phone apparently operates on Symbian 60 3rd edition-like C5. Apparently, the handset would include UMTS / HSDPA. The Nokia C6 reportedly carries a price tag of approximately €200 (approx $ 274). It is scheduled to be available in the market from May or June 2010. It is likely that this mobile phone would be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this month. Well, Nokia fans will have to wait for some more time to get this news confirmed. it is looking like chisese Sc*p.... now 'C' series means Edited February 6, 2010 by savramesh

savramesh 37 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 Nokia C6 Exists, To Go On Sale Soon A higher-end model than the C5 We all knew about Nokia's upcoming C-Series handsets when images of one of the C-Series devices was leaked a few days ago. The first of the C-Series phones are expected to be announced at the Nokia conference at Barcelona this very month. To make things more obvious, the Nokia C6, yet another C-Series phone, was recently approved by the independent U.S. government agency Federal Communications Commission (FCC) so that it could be officially sold in the country. The new handset will be known as the C6 - obviously a higher-end model than the C5 whose images were leaked a few weeks ago. As it turns out, the C6 is known as the Nokia RM-612 internally. The C6 features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, quad-band GSM connectivity, and tri-band WCDMA connectivity (900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz). As of now, we have no details as to when the C6 would make it to a retail store near you. However, there is a chance that this could be announced along with the C5 and the C3. savramesh 37 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 Nokia Launches Latest S60 Based Smartphone - C5 Comes with Facebook and MySpace widgets right on the homescreen We all knew it was coming. It was just a question of when the launch would happen - and it turned out to be March 2, 2010. Nokia has finally announced the launch of a new series with the launch of the C5, its latest S60 based smartphone that focuses on social networking. We had earlier seen leaked images of the C5 and already know what the phone looks like. Nevertheless, lets go thorough the official specs this time round. The C5 measures 12.3mm x 46mm x 112mm (0.48in x 1.81in x 4.4in) which makes it quite compact. The front side is dominated by a 2.2-inch 320 x 240 pixel display capable of displaying 16 million colors. The C5 has a fairly powerful 1050Mah battery that should be able to power this phone for a very long time. Other features include a 3.2 megapixel camera, memory expansion and full support for Ovi Mail, Nokia Messaging and Ovi Maps. With microSD card support, you can expand the memory upto 8GB. The phone comes with a 2GB card. Music connoisseurs can rejoice - thanks to the 3.5mm headphone jack the phone comes with. As mentioned earlier, the phone is fully social networking ready - right out of the box. It comes with Facebook and MySpace widgets right on the homescreen. The C5 has been priced at $182 (Rs. 8,400) in the European markets and will soon be made available in India as well.
savramesh 37 Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Nokia C3 Exists; Gets FCC Approval While the existence of the Nokia C5 and the C6 has been confirmed, let us remind you that there was another C-Series handset that had made its presence felt in rumorsville not long ago. That's right. We're talking about the Nokia C3. Well, in a recent development, the C3 has apparently cleared the FCC in U.S. The phone, which bears the internal model number RM-614, will soon see the assembly lines. The FCC website also has an image of the rear of the phone. It is clear by the looks of the phone that it is a low to mid-range segment device that would be targeted at emerging markets. It also appears wider than usual and might as well add a QWERTY keypad? But then, that bit is unconfirmed as of now. But then, it would make sense to have a QWERTY keypad on a phone that belongs to a series that focuses on social interaction and social networking. Going by the naming convention, the C3 might just be cheaper than the C5. The latter also happens to be one of the cheapest Nokia smartphones currently available. Will the C3 beat it in the price wars? It also boils down to the fact that if this phone indeed gets a QWERTY keypad, it could be positioned above the C5.
