Maxx Gc Series Phones

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since I have damaged my old Nokia Reliance handset up to a non repairable level, and also have a GSM Airtel sim on Motorokr E6, I wanted to buy a Dual Sim Touch Screen Phone (not CoolPad at all) and I came across MAXX GC355 and MAXX GC1000 handsets that are GSM-CDMA and GSM-GSM compatible.

Just want to know if MAXX is a reliable brand. Cost Wise GC355 claimed Rs. 5750 in a local shop.

Before going ahead I wanted to know if anyone has used MAXX brand, or any other suggestions for a Dual Sim Brand?

No I dont want to go for those provided by Reliance, since they lock and disable many features of a good phone and also raise the cost as compared to local market. Also Reliance based handsets fail in performance as time passes.

Bye

Regards

My roommate is using GC1000 handset and its gud one. nice phone with touch screen with 5500 rupees.

GC1000 is an option, however I am looking towards GC355 http://www.maxxmobile.in/Maxx/Products3.aspx?idProduct=42 as GC1000 http://www.maxxmobile.in/Maxx/Products2.aspx?idProduct=9 lacks JAVA compatibility as per MAXX customer care.

I had been to one shop to buy GC355 but it was not sealed box and the cost was 5750. It was touch screen phone with WAP and JAVA enabled.

Since it was not sealed box, I left the shop hoping to get it in other shop, but other shops say that the phone hasnt come to their shop yet... So am waiting for it or else I will have to settle down on GC1000

After long search I finally bought Maxx GC355 CDMA-GSM/GSM-GSM handset for Rs. 5750 from my local shop, when all other shop keepers said "It is unavailable" and offered non touch screen phones at that cost.

It supports both CDMA-GSM as well as GSM-GSM mode along with Touch screen support.

I still have to use this phone to be able to write a detailed review. Since I bought it last night, these are all that I could come up with.

Pros:

1. Touch Screen that serves the same purpose for which we use mouse on a PC. (After using touch screen phone for more than 2 years, i feel uncomfortable with touch disabled screen)

2. Upto 4GB extended memory module support

3. Support for Bluetooth Handsfree

4. Support for GPRS/JAVA/WAP

5. Flight mode available

6. Text Input is through onscreen keyboard as well as physical key pad

7. Both CDMA and GSM can share numbers from both the Sims for dialing, so no need of number duplication for both modes

8. Music is loud enough on both Speaker phone as well as on handsfree

9. Additional features like World Time, Theft Protection, Melody Composer (Ringtone maker), Call cheater (dont know exact use of this)

10. Camera can be used as Web Cam

Cons:

1. No shortcut for locking screen manually. There's only auto lock option

2. Have to pass through lots of menus to browse files

3. No direct option for "Set as Ringtone / Wallpaper". Have to go through many process for setting custom ringtone

4. Camera is only 1.3 MP, also quality is low

5. No seperate headphone jack, Charger and headphone share common connectors

6. No Sync software for this model, can be however used for file transfers as pen drive

Still need to know much about this piece... but for this small price, I think its better than Chinese handset, as it comes with warranty, IMEI, as well service centers

well 1st of all i could not find any slider phone with g+g/g+c option.so went for gc735.phone has many pros.stylish(10/10 for that),very light weight unlike other maxx phones, screen resolution is exceptional, battery backup is very good(almost about 2 days after continous use)n signal reception is very good.also good sms n phone book capacity.music is ordinary on speakers but very good on earphones.some cons-phone gets automatically locked if u close the slider, cam resolution is bit poor n memory card slot is bit delicate.undoubtedly this is the best phone i ever used.will give it 9/10.hope they had provided better speakers n a 2mp cam then this would have been certainly a revolutionary phone........
