phonegeek 588 Report post Posted February 22, 2010 Hi Guys, I know its a very simple query but want to take your expert advice before doing anything stupid. I just want to know whether old UIM card can be used with another number after the original number has been transferred to another UIM ?
SumitVerma 187 Report post Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) As far as Tata is concerned, its not possible! T-SIM card can be used just once. It was possible an year before but that too after 2-3 months of number moved from the card. Hope it clarifies what you wanted to know! ::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 Yes in case of Reliance, you can use your old ruim for another number .. HOW ? i have tried on 5 different used ruim it did not happen
SumitVerma 187 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 Its not really possible. Its about A-Key thing, Not too sure though what exactly. Once a UIM card is activated, you cannot use it again.
gauravjc 47 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 If u transfer from the system then they block the ruim, but if it is done thru HCC you can re-use the sim.. to know your status of ur sim send sms to 53733 as "GETSTAT RSN" without quotes.
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 well theorically it shud be possible but in reality it isnt even though the rsn status of ur old ( once used ruim) will say that it will work with hcc but when u will do *228 using hcc it will fail somehow reliance doesnt like u to use ruims over and over i have tried it in past , tried it few days back also , still no use *228 always fails to program
ACS 130 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 ^^^ Correct. HCC too used to work from RUIM to Non-RUIM or whatever.. That too has now stopped..
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 well HCC works perfectly from ruim to non ruim have done it lot of times in past few days
ACS 130 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 (edited) ^^^ I have tried in the past with 10-15 RUIMs & it worked once or twice only.. Unlucky maybe.. But in your case, does the RUIM become blank for another number or still dead? Edited February 23, 2010 by ACS
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 ruim can be used only once it becomes blank , but it cannot be activated for other no again
ACS 130 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 ^^^^ Hehe.. in my case it has worked few times earlier. Maybe they have now restricted its multiple usage as not checked recently. We now give these blocked RUIMs freely to basic handset users - for phonebook backup storage !
me_saket 73 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 great use of phone, just to store phonebook?
ACS 130 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 ^^^ If your LG 3530 is lost, where's your back-up ? (in absence of Data cable in Box) Again when you buy a basic phone, you can transfer it cant you ?
