HI friends

I am desperately willing to upgrade my more than a year old LG 2030. It is a great phone but one needs to upgrade over time... :confuse:

SO i wanted to know which is the next best alternative to this phone at present rates (i.e best value for money)

I also have the GTRAN phone ------- its a great bargain for 6k. My vote goes to this phone. But each person has his own choices ------- so go ahead and vote for your favourite phone.

LG 6130 comes a close 2nd since i am not fully aware of its features

Regards

Tanmay

hi tanmay,

i have rd2030 phone n im quite happy with it. i also want to upgrade my phone but i dont find the same kind of functionality in any other phone lanched by reliance. i think i will wait for some more time coz i read somewhere in this forum dat reliance is going to launch 10-12 handsets after diwali

Same case here waiting for good color mobile to be launched by Reliance as the color mobiles launched till date r not good some have sms problem (140 char) I am an sms addict (being a DAPO subscriber) So I am waiting for a mobile that has all the good qualities of rd 2030 and is easily tweakable (to add ringtones and wallpapers) Hope we get such a mobile

i think qualcomm chip used in CDMA hanset supports 140 char with wrap function and 160 without. so atleast don't expect more character SMS handsets in CDMA.

Then how come 7130 supports 160 char sms :)

gtran has single charger. travel charger can be converted to Desktop charger by connecting plastic cradle.

I don't think Qualcomm has got anything to do there.

And as Ganesh said 7130 supports 160 chars with wrap

& "Carriage return" (pilcrow symbol) support too. It is simply (and sadly) that they are either allocating a lesser buffer or setting max_char limit to 160.

On Gtran - it is possible (I am not entirely sure though) that it has got something to do with the EZWord rather than the costlier T9En autocomplete they used. But for 5130/6130 it is simply nonsense what they have done.
