kesav 127 Report post Posted July 16, 2010 All latest chipsets from Qualcomm by default has OMH support inbuilt. It's just a matter of enabling this function by handset manufacturers. Irrespective of whether other global operators go for OMH or not , OMH is the future and it can't be reversed.

jijotr 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Hi, I was really thrilled to hear that BSNL is foraying into CDMA market with EVDO enabled RUIM which can be used for both data and voice in the pre-paid scheme. But sadly the customer care in Trivandrum and Cochin don't know anything about this till date. Whenever i enqire about this all they know is about 3G sims. What a pity!! Does anyone in Kerala know about the availability of BSNL RUIM? How is the coverage of BSNL CDMA in Kerala? Thanks in advance!!
Arun 795 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 I think prepaid EVDO is not yet launched in BSNL Kerala, at least not in Trivandrum. BSNL CDMA coverage is fine and EVDO coverage is expanding. However EVDO Rev.A is still not fully launched; it is Rev.0 in Trivandrum as of now.
Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 well still evdo rev0 and rev a wont have much effect as even on evdo rev a u will get avarage speeds of 600-1.5mbps , in real life and on rev 0 also same

kesav 127 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) In yet another surprising move, BSNL has introduced different data plans for EVDO prepaid. Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic  500 MB --> Rs. 150 1 GB --> Rs. 250 2.5 GB --> Rs. 500 Unlimited --> Rs. 750 The above rates are cheaper than their own postpaid rates........... http://bsnl.co.in/service/internet_on_cdma.htm# Why on earth they're not advertising such pro-consumer moves widely? iyappan 8 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 I got the BSNL CDMA RUIM from Salem, Tamilnadu by paying Rs.39. When I had inserted the RUIM in my Samsung Corby Speed it is showing the 1x signal bar along with the evdo signal bar, but when I try to connect it through my laptop the dialer reply is "Modem is not responding". Also I am able to make voice calls from the mobile. Any Rimwebians / EVDO gurus please help me in this.
kesav 127 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 Let us know whether you've "OMH" logo (Diamond) on the RUIM?

kesav 127 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 The following is just my opinion, I request OMH experts in the forum to correct me if I'm wrong. "EVDO signal bar in the Samsung Corpy Speed will show up if any type of RUIM(either OMH or non-OMH) is inserted and the corresponding operator has EVDO coverage. But EVDO will work only if the OMH RUIM is inserted"

Purpose of concocted PRL is to conserve battery.
