sunil_jok 2 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 here is some more info bout the phone, i mean details of its use. and here is the link from where i got it http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/527593.cms Now, watch, click and speak KALPANA SHAH TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ MONDAY, MARCH 01, 2004 01:28:21 AM ] BANGALORE: This is the era of the Indian James Bond. A first-of-its-kind triple combo of wristwatch, camera and cellphone has been quietly launched in India first. The device will hit the US and Korean markets only in late March. Called Telson TWC 1150, this designer phone has been brought to India by Reliance Infocomm . It is being exclusively marketed in select Webworld stores and only in select cities. SP Shukla, head of wireless products and services, Reliance Infocomm, told The Economic Times that it was a lifestyle product that was meant to be exclusive and available only to discerning buyers who may want to make a statement by the very fact of ownership. Priced at Rs 23,900, this 98 gm device also packs in lots of features including a speakerphone, voice recording and voice recognition capabilities. No, you don’t need to take the watch off your wrist every time the phone rings. You have three options to listen in: one, use the instrument like a speakerphone as long as your wrist is at chest-level. Two, use an earpiece which is infrared-enabled and thus wireless. Three, wear an aesthetic metal ring on your finger (it comes complementary!) plug a thin wire to your wristwatch, bring your finger close to the ear to listen to the caller. Meanwhile, you can also use the plug-in high-resolution camera that is included in the handset kit. The high resolution display screen – 128 x 112 pixels – can even be used to display the photo of the caller once you’ve downloaded the picture. Name display is what those other, cheaper phones do! The gadget supports voice dial, voice memo, call recording and answering machine functionalities. According to Shukla, Reliance Infocomm expects to sell the device in thousands, not in lakhs. “Since India is now a big market for CDMA products, any new product that’s made for this technology cannot stay away from India. We also believe that the Indian market is ready to experiment and therefore we will introduce more interesting gadgets in the future,” he said. The three-in-one device runs on one battery and gives talktime in line with high-end handsets.
