balaji 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Hi, I own a LG RD 2030 handset. When the phone is switched on and there is no signal, it endlessly waits for the signal (no further progress). Is there any way of accessing the address book of the phone even when there is no signal. I just need the phone numbers stored in the mobile, I can use some other device to actually place the call. Please help, thank you. Regards, Balaji
raccoon 53 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Thats wied ...you should certainly be able to access other functions like addr. book, etc ...within or outside coverage area. At least I can. You should take it to an LG service station...

raccoon 53 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 If there is no signal you should see the no signal icon and the phone should go in power saving mode ...i think in about 10 mins.

raccoon 53 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 (edited) Yes, you are right ...it is 15 mins and not 10. 5 mins would of course be better for saving power ...but since phone will check if its being paged much less frequently in power saving mode, you might miss a call when you are moving in area where there is fringe coverage... balaji 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2004 Hi All, Thanks for your responses. I rebooted my phone. Now I can access the address book, etc. (except alarm and scheduler) even though there is no signal.
