ani_meher 42 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 I am leaning towards shifting to DSLR, especially before Leh trip. But the budget is as usual tight. The 1000D is around 22.5 with warranty, but max i can stretch is about 14-15k. I can get second hand 1000D in this range, but maybe in a few months the camera itself will be 18-19k new. What are the recommendations on this? Additionally, if anyone is selling his/her unused DSLR, pls do contact me!

ani_meher 42 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 Last week, I went to Krome store to try the DSLRs, as I have never handled DSLRs before. I felt them to be really huge to handle comfortably. I am a 'motographer', so I click mostly on motorcycle rides. The camera is most of the times resting in the inner pocket of the jacket. With a DSLR, I don't see how I can still manage to click those pics fast and get moving. Therefore, for time being, I am putting my decision to buy DSLRs at hold. In future, maybe after getting a car and starting to tour in it, I may go for a DSLR!
FEVIN-RAJ 61 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 Dear ani once u try and experiance the clarity and quality of DSLR-images, then u'll definitely throw all ur AF cams
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 ^^^ yes you are correct, but his purpose of using or way of using is different, DSLR will not suite him
ani_meher 42 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 Yep, I am not denying the power of DSLRs at all. Simply the practicality matters more at the time being! Also, I am no professional photographer, so not that my photos are going to pay themselves off. Maybe in future I will turn to DSLRs.
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 ^^^ there are good point and shot cams in market which are not bulky and will fit in your pocket ! consider them as you cameras !
