haxpak 6 Report post Posted March 27, 2010 hello everyone, i bought bb 8830 from a fren here on rimweb (os 4.2.2). it is a verizon version, the friend who sold it to me, unlocked it, activated reliance esn and also told me that the phone had got ist gps activated. although when i got the phone, in order to be able to use d2g, i upgeaded the phone os to 4.5 using auto upgrade in dm. he told me that i must change the pde option to dbm in order to get the phone to work, but everytime i write to phone using qpst, it probably does not accept the option change. also, it does not take in the service books provided by muffadal here in the forum, i am unable to replace them. and crackutil always says wrong password Also i had a concept in mind, that if i could somehow get my laptop internet to be shared on the blackberry, someting like n95 does using w-lan, but here no wifi support so some cabled option probably? please help me out with this one @ gurus please tell me how do i use my gps and gprs, all the forum posts i have gone through, i was able to make out this conclusion:- GPS: set pde to dbm GPRS: upload service books as provided by mufaddil here well my problem is, when ever i try to upload the service books phone does not take it. And pde has not been able to be set to dbm (when i write to the phone in servie programming it does not give any errors but when again later i do a read from phone pde is set to ip) please help me with this one. please experience holders reply
asheet 3 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 1. For SBs, u need to enable Leagsy Service books. Then u dont have to use crackutil. Goto Options - Adv options - Serbice books. Now type SBEB & u will get a popup ' Leagcy SB enabled' 2. Now connect to DM & copy SBs.

tarun_kabra 204 Report post Posted July 9, 2010 That is true for BB8830 GSM Part, but I never faced this problem on Verizon Storm 9530 either on RCDMA or GSM. GPS (either with MG Maps or Google Maps) worked flawlessly.
