Planning To Buy 8830! Is It Worth It?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I am planning to buy Blackberry 8830 and a reliance connection. I wanted to know some reviews about this handset. I did read the threads regarding this handset but wanted they are all old threads.. are there any new handsets available in the market better than this at this price???

Try Corby speed as you will be able to get EVDO on this set. Imported BB will not have internet/data/BB services so unless you are looking for a dual mode phone, the BB doesn't make sense

BB 8830 is one of the best and I still have it. There are newer models available which obviously have more features, but for the price range 8830 is very good if you don't mind missing wifi.

yes, bb 8830 is the best in blackberry for the price and as its a WE phone.

you can enjoy Reliance CDMA plus any Gsm with BIS,

but only no cam and no wifi..

^^^

if you have budget of 15K,

you can get HTC Hero in that, may be 1K-2K extra.

or search for BB 8330, is little better but cannot match the keyboard quality for 8830.

in/under 15K you can get following handsets

HTC Hero - Very little used

BB 8830 - NEW

BB 8330 - NEW

Other HTC models - new / OLD

Palm treo 755p - NEW

In your budget there are lots of options, you will get confused. so stick to your requirements .

WELL go with 8830 only if u want BIS

u cant use data on cdma , only calls /sms

and on gsm u can use BIS as well as gprs

but 8830 browser s**ks big times , and using gprs u wont get any push mail

so better go for 8830 is u want BIS

well if your budget is 15000 u can get

brand new diamond ( under 15k from ebay with shipping)

brand new touch pro ( under 15k from ebay with shipping)

htc hero

HTC mogul ( under 10k)

if u have no need for BIS go with above handsets as you will get data ,mails and also GPS ...

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A BB 8830 FROM HITESH BHAI. I HAVE ALSO USED THE CORBY. SO MY VOTE IS FOR BB 8830, GREAT PHONE TO HAVE. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT U CANNOT USE BIS ON CDMA, BUT CAN USED WITH GSM.

^

CDMA connection is configured just like any other handset.

For GSM, you can put in a SIM!

Only one Sim Slot,

CDMA number can be programed also sim slot can be used for some RUIM cards.

GSM works only in sim slot.

there is a menu to switch between programed cdma number and sim gsm number.
