Inter 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2004 (edited) The problem is that neither Indian nor Indonesian version of the new slim Samsung SCH-N356 is working with PC Link software over my 3-wire serial cable because this cable can not set the phone to the AT command mode. Does anyone know the full pin-out of the original PC Link cable for the Samsung SCH-N356? I don't think that N356 has an USB port at all, so we are supposed to use a serial cable with DTR, CTS, RTS and CD lines. I think that pins 7, 9, 10, 12 may be used for this, any ideas? Please e-mail to me at: rimweb@superbank.ru The PC Link software can be found HERE Edited November 26, 2004 by Inter

But I am just wondering if the Samsung SCH-N356 does support any AT commands. And how to set the phone to the AT command mode. For example, Samsung SCH-811i (a very old model) is working with PC Link software, but very special cable is required (RXD, TXD and GND is not enough). satish_appasani 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 I tried to connect N356 to PCLink 2003 i downloaded from Samsung site using the USB data cable I had for N191. First it was showing wrong port. The config window shows COM1 and COM2 only. Then I changed port=2 in the ini file. Then the above error does not occur but it shows this model is not supported. mrasool 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 The Samsung SCH-N191 cable is now available with the Samsung ASCs. I visited the one in my city in early February 2005 and the cables had just started to come in. The cable must work with SCH-N356 also as the pinouts and the PC Link software is the same. The chap at the ASC said that you can order the cable (Rs. 1200) and not buy it if it does not work with the PC Link software . It seems they are not sure themselves. I have the picture for the cable but it is too large in size to be posted here. I'll try it out and tell the forum about it. The part number for the cable is PCB129SBEC/IND And if anybody can check out if their ASC has the cable in ready stock, they can post their experience here. I tried a Samsung SGH-C100(GSM) serial cable on my SCH-N191 with Bitpim 0.7.14. It opens the COM port fine but has the problem of not being able to transition to the BREW mode. And am sorry for cross posting, but i think this reply is relevant for both the threads.
