abhi.r 95 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 Eew I saw Unboxing Vids of Incredible on Youtube and i was disappointed to see.. a 25k+ phone having nothing much inside the box My PPC i bought from Reliance came with 256 SD card, Car Charger, Hostler, Docking station, and other usual stuffs. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) HTC Incredible OTA Update Mysteriously Arrives! by Rob Jackson on May 1st, 2010 As I sit down to work on our Android Phone Guide and eat some tasty General Tso's Chicken, I notice something curious pop up on my HTC Incredible – a big "System Update" dialogue box: Pressing the "More Info" button didn't yield a very good explanation of what was included: So we know its 3.5MB but that's about it… and the link they offered to http://www.verizonwi...crediblesupport was currently a broken link. Time to install the update and do some sleuthing for myself! Here is the phone info from before and after: So the Build Number changed from ending in 493 to ending in 494 and the Software number changed from ending in .0 to .2 – so this was definitely wasn't a phantom update even though the Firmware version still reads 2.1-update1. What exactly did this update accomplish? I'm not sure… but I've got word into HTC and Verizon and hopefully we can collectively figure out what this Indredible OTA is all about. Just need to use ADB and do this mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system (it MIGHT be mtdblock3 as this is the partition for the droid where as htc's generally use mtdblock3) cd /system/media mv bootanimation.zip bootanimation.bak THEN IN A SECOND CMD PROMPT DO THIS (NO ADB SHELL THIS TIME) adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip sync reboot And your done, it should reboot with the new animation. Oh and that adb push command is assuming you put the bootanimation.zip in the tools folder where adb is located. Actually if ADB scares you or you don't have it on your PC you can doo everything directly from the Incredible with terminal emulator from the market. Thee commands would be basically the same... mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system mv /system/media/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.bak cat /sdcard/bootanimation.zip > /system/media/ OR mv /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip sync reboot It will reboot with the new animation, this way is easier if you don't mind using the virtual keyboard look here Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) TV Output on DROID Incredible by HTC note: at the beginning of the video there is a bubble that says "Second microUSB port for charging while connected" So it looks like the microUSB side of the cable has both a male and female.
