vb86 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Yesterday i transferred an mp3pro file to my portable 128mb mp3 player and it worked. As mp3pro saves a lot of space, i want to convert all my mp3s (which i want to transfer to the player) to mp3pro format. The thing is the encoder (thomson demo version) which i have got my hands on, converts only wave files and that too to 64kbps mp3pro (equivelant to 128kbps of the normal mp3 format). If i convert the mp3s (128kbps) to wave using dbpoweramp and then the wave to mp3pro using mp3pro, will the quality of sound be maintained? Also, what type of wave should i convert to (frequency, etc.)? If someone has a better alternative, please do suggest.

biosbhai 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 mp3pro files can be played in any standard mp3 player. quality will be reduced if they are not detected as mp3pro. 64 kbps mp3pro = 128 kbps mp3 (quality) absolutely no difference

biosbhai 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 if u play an mp3pro file in an mp3 player, it plays, but the quality is low. it is similar to playing a 64 kbps mp3 file.
