Genius 817 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 ^^ u need to wipe it and then install new OS,
::Hitesh:: 1,763 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) you will require following software to wipe and install 1) BBSAK (GUI ver of JL commander) 2) Blackberry desktop manager (Ver 4.2 or 4.5) 3) BB OS (link given by me) Now follow these steps Remove the battery of BB8830 Open Blackberry Desktop Manager Insert the battery in 8830 and let it boot fully. then Connect your 8830 to PC via its USB cable. Your Blackberry desktop manager will connect to 8830 and will show its PIN at the bottom Leave the BB DM open (require for com port to be active) Then open BBSAK (you required a live net connection to run it) It will ask for a device password (if you have set the password BBSAK will connect to your BB and it will also show your PIN and black color bb8830 on the software. You will see 4 buttons on BBSAK backup / restore tab. you have to click wipe device. it will ask you "Are you sure? This is low level wipe" Yes or No. Click Yes and wait for 30sec. It will show one window, just click OK, Your 8830 will restart and will show "Error 507" Now close BB DM and open again. It will show device not connected. Now Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader Start application loader from DM. Just follow the instruction on screen most of them are next next. It will start loading apps to your blackberry, it will load JVM etc etc. It will reboot two time. On 2nd boot it will take more time (5-20min). After that you are done ! If this did not help, you need to nuke your BB with MFI ! deadman 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2010 Thanks hitesh for posting details.. I have done it in some other way...Here is the details: (may help for newbie ) 1] Wipe : Downloaded JL_Cmder v1.9.1 [Thanks to google] Option 4 Wipe Downloaded CrackUtil (found zip file google) wipe the apps and the file system 2] Downgrading BB8830 is Ver 4.2.2.123 As i got error as i said earlier. I followed this method. Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader. 1. Disconnect the device from the PC 2. Download and install Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS to the PC (if they have not already been installed): Desktop Manager and Handheld OS List 3. Start a Command Prompt in DOS from the PC (Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt) 4. Change the directory to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader a) From C:\ prompt type: cd Program Files cd Common Files cd Research In Motion cd AppLoader 5. Make sure Desktop Manager is not running 6. Connect BlackBerry to the PC 7. Enter the following command in the Command Prompt window: loader.exe /nojvm 8. The Application Loader Wizard window will open 9. Click on Next 10. You will get a drop down list with the COM ports and one USB port entry 11. Select the one which says USB:UNKNOWN a) If you do not see USB:UNKNOWN or USB:BBPIN, then follow instructions listed in a1-a5: a1) Disconnect the device from the PC. a2) Keep the Application Loader Wizard window open a3) Remove the battery and put it back a4) While the red led is on, reconnect the device to the PC. The led will only stay on for a few seconds a5) When USB:UNKNOWN appears in the drop down list, you need to immediately select Next 12. The loader should now connect to your device and you will be able to reinstall the OS Done. I hope i will not get the Device Error 348 again.
