Recommended Posts

KOLKATA: Reliance on Wednesday announced a series of investment plans for West Bengal in the infocom sector, including setting up a solution development and service centre over the next three years.

"We (Reliance Infocomm) have already invested close to Rs 1,000 crore in the state but I feel this is not enough and we will set up a solution development and service centre here

that would give employment to over 2,500 people in the next three years," RIL chairman and managing director Mukesh D Ambani said while inaugurating Infocom-2004 IT seminar

organised by the ABP group and Nasscom.

The company would also set up the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology in Kolkata, the first of which is already functioning in Gujarat, he said.

"This will help generate employment and provide training to the state's talented youth and equip young men and women with knowledge," Ambani said.

"It (the Institute) will powerfully propel India to global leadership in today's world of information and knowledge," he said.
