Arun 795 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 So this means if my operator has not won 3G spectrum, then for using 3G I have to move to another operator or will there be any other arrangement? You have to wait for MNP to be implemented for that

retro182 1 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 Some one mentioned that Relaince and TATA have EVDO route so they've not bidded aggressively. I want to know that as a loyal RCDMA customer in Guj how will the #G pan out for us considering the fact that Reliance hasn't won in Guj??????? Some one pls explain. Thanks in advance. As expected TATA and Reliance were not agressive since they've EvDO route. Good to know that 3G auctions have been completed.  Sir can you pls explain yourself as to how will the CDMA players take advantage of the EVDO thing. Can you pls elaborate. kshah 452 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 This also mean fragmented services. Cry baby cry. 3g hopes will soon be nightmare for users
Arun 795 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 btw..when can we expect commercial launch of 3g services? Heard some operator's (Idea I think) manager say on CNBC that customers should be able to start using 3G services "as early as December"
srk006 21 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 btw..when can we expect commercial launch of 3g services? Not before Mid 2011. Govt planned to provide spectrum on 1st Sep earlier. But there was some news of three months delay. So consider spectrum to be awarded in Nov, 6-8 months setting up and testing... comes to July!! On a positive note since Tata and Reliance have lost many circles we MAY see better data/internet plans on CDMA.

The EVDO service he is talking is of CDMA...not of GSM as for that they have to take 3G Service... And CDMA EVDO is already there in gujarat on selected handsets with more to be launched in few months... So don't worry you can still use EVDO Service(Like HSD) on your CDMA Number.....
