shan1212 7 Report post Posted May 24, 2010 Now a days Airtel GPRS speed very poor. :'( we can't browse any site in day time. Aircel provides more gprs speed compared to Airtel. In January 2010 Airtel speed was near 200 kbps, Now it is near 20 kbps...(very hard to load any site) Shame on Airtel.. I changed to TATA DOCOMO... Docomo provides super speed about 160 kbps (Average) -sharafu

P. K. Daga 3 Report post Posted May 25, 2010 I feel Airtel have not upgraded their data network from last 2 years because of 3G , now that they have got the licence in 13 circles, I am sure their network will improve at a good pace.

SumitVerma 187 Report post Posted May 25, 2010 Kindly look at the network congestion of Airtel and other new players. btw till date I am not able to find such a flawless services given by bharti.
raccoon 53 Report post Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) ^^^You guys are talking about very different locations. I know Airtel is good in some parts... like Delhi, etc. It is not so here. Congestion can also be severe. Few months ago, the network was much worse than even RGSM. Not too sure about the latest scenario as I'v stopped using my Airtel SIM. Airtel was flawed in all possible ways, right from pathetic network to swindling in different ways. Edited May 25, 2010 by raccoon
parin 857 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 MTS in Kolkata gives 1p/2sec But who can call on its network, after 10 tries call connects, so what the use of going cheap Need to try my hands on docomo gprs. Does anybody know How's Reliance GSM Gprs
raccoon 53 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 Does anybody know How's Reliance GSM Gprs Seems to be quite good... at least in places where you can get a decent signal. But the tarrifs are not at all good. I am able to connect Opera Mini 4.2 on my phone only using rcomnet APN. At Rs. 2 or more everytime I start the browser, it is not at all attractive. And since the tariffs are not at all attractive, I'v never bothered to connect it to a comp... so wouldn't be able to put a figure on the speeds.
shan1212 7 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 In KERALA Reliance GSM prvides TCP/IP GPRS service (Internet on PC) Rs 26 for 3 days Unlimitted GPRS Rs 107 for 14 days Unlimitted GPRS You use APN : rcomnet Speed : around 170 kbps (Average) Main problem : Very poor coverage for Reliance GSM Tata Docomo have better coverage than Reliance GSM :'( Also Docomo have best GPRS Tariff -sharafu
Honest 836 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 Still Docomo GPRS is the best. Both in case of tariffs and speed.
lostjournal 7 Report post Posted May 29, 2010 Still Docomo GPRS is the best. Both in case of tariffs and speed. I agree! Even though I have BSNL 3G here in Kerala, I prefer DoCoMo. Awesome speed.. I watch YouTube flawlessly. I don't know why, but my battery drains out in less than a day ( even on stand by) when I use BSNL 3G on my Nokia E71. Also the maps do not work at all (AGPS?)! Phone gets hot.. So my vote goes to DOCOMO!
Honest 836 Report post Posted May 29, 2010 ^^^ My dear Sonam.....3G uses more power, thats why the battery of your handset drains quickly.
