shan1212 7 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 IDEA capped its Unlimitted GPRS plans . Just have a look below -------------------------------- Fair Usage Policy - IDEA GPRS * Customers doing unlimited recharges from May 19th, 2010 in Prepaid Netsetter(695,699,999,1002) will be under fair usage policy . * Customers on crossing 5GB usage from date of last recharge (in Unlimited plan) will move to a lower speed of upto 40kbps. * The customer is restored to normal speed at end of validity of current recharge / customers doing a recharge with another unlimited recharge which ever earlier. The customers would get normal speed within 48 hrs. * If a customer wants to restore his normal speed he need to do any of the unlimited recharges (695,699,999,1002).Within 48 hrs the customers would get the normal speed restored. --------------------------------- Now you look GPRS Plans. TATA DOCOMO : Rs 95 - 6GB Free - 30 Days Validity. IDEA : Rs 699 - Unlimitted (FUP- 5 GB) After FUP only upto 40kbps speed - 30 Days validity ------------ IDEA & Tata Docomo provides same speed. raccoon 53 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 Idea has gone nuts. The network is really good and customer service is also good (thru email... call center is as bad as any other) but it now totally falls flat when it comes to tariffs... even for voice. I totally stopped using Idea GPRS sometime back and whatever li'l I use, I use thru my RGSM only... though even RCom's tariffs are not as attractive as Docomo or Aircel. And 40 kbps is like a joke. Its below usable speed. They might as well stop the connection altogether, when the cap is reached.

kesav 127 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) I hope it's better idea for 'Idea' to sell the business to TATA. I feel 'Idea' is a bad idea for Birla group. TATA will be ready to pay premium for the sake of Delhi circle in which they've not got GSM spectrum till date. TRAI in recent recommendations almost closed the gate for TATA Docomo in Delhi.
