Help Needed: Unable To Connect Huawei Ec324 Modem.

I recently bought a 1x huawei ec325 netconnect modem from a forum member.

To connect the modem with pc/laptop, he provided me with a PIN (USB to mini-usb converter) and not a cable.

Now, when I am trying to connect the modem with a data cable I get an error msg "usb device not recognised" though it works extremely fine with the PIN that the seller provided.

What could be the problem? Can anyone please help?

Data Cable is the problem only.

Even I thought so.. But later on I discovered that the same cable is usable with other mp3 players, etc..

So am kind of confused as to what could be the problem
