Interview with Afsah Shafquat

KalPoint: Please give a brief introduction of yourself and also tell us about your achievements.

Afsah Shafqat: My name is Afsah Shafqat and I am 14 years old. Currently I am a student of White House Grammar School and I am a student of O levels. I took admission in Operation Badar's Java program at Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology about 2 and half years ago. Now I am the teaching assistant of XML and Java there.

KalPoint: How many records have you broken?

Afsah Shafqat: Six; interestingly one of my records was further broken by my youngest sister Afrah. This was Youngest SCJP's record which was previously held by a 14-year old Indian boy. I passed SCJP at the age of 12 years 4 months and 2 days and broke his record. Later Afrah broke my record by passing this exam at the age of 11 years 5 months and 19 days.

KalPoint: Who has been your motivational force?

Afsah Shafqat: My father. He was and he will always be. My sisters have also been a motivational force because I was always scared that they would break my records. Sir Zia U Khan, Doctor Atta-ur-Rehman and Mr. Salman Ansari have also been motivational forces because every time I break a record, they encourage me a lot.

KalPoint: Have you always been a brilliant student?

Afsah Shafqat: I have always gotten first position except in Grade VIII when I got second position and that too by a margin of one mark, but before that I always topped. Actually during those days, I was preparing for IBM Exam 486 (OOAD). Just 2 days after passing that international certification my school's exams commenced.

KalPoint: How did your family members react?

Afsah Shafqat: Family members were very happy but my schoolmates were surprised greatly.

KalPoint: Hobbies?

Afsah Shafqat: Cartoons! I have about a hundred CDs and I love to watch them.

KalPoint: Future plans?

Afsah Shafqat: I am planning to go to J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) side. Besides that, I want to go to the genetic Engineering side.

KalPoint: We at KalPoint wish you all the very best for your future.

Afsah Shafqat:. Thanks.
