Saurav 22 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 I am thinking of a E72 for my father so that he can check his mails & other appls. I found on GSMARENA that it has low speaker volume before I finally buy I want your opinion 1. Is voice volume (Conversation) sufficent to be heard by old people. 2. Is ringtone volume sufficient to be heard with in room. 3. Are there any hanging problems? I also have Nokia E52 in shortlist. If the volume is low can we increase it by using some external application as we did with diamond & other handsets. Pls guide. Main requirement is mail (Personal & Official). If some alternate is better pls suggest.
starnet 7 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) Blackberry 8520 price at around Rs 12000 is a good option. I am using one at the moment. You will have to pay Rs 299 per month for unlimited email and that is the downside plus it doesn't have 3G. My mother has hearing related problem and she is able to hear the person on the other side of the call on BB 8520 without any problem. Nokia can't beat blackberry when it comes to built quality, voice clarity and ability to make clear voice calls and use email even in low signal areas. I own a Nokia N95 also and it has hanging problem. You have to take battery out and put it in again at least once a day and that is not acceptable for a phone that I bought for Rs 25000. I think phone hanging in the middle of a call is a feature and not a problem in all costlier models of Nokia. Edited June 19, 2010 by starnet

chitshar 25 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 i have used my friends e72. call volume is good you will not have any problem while talking. speaker volume is not good you might miss a call in a noisy environment and it might not be enough to wake you from sleep. same goes for talking via loudspeaker not all calls would be great if background is little noisy and other party is not having good reception. This is my personal experience and yes bb8520 has better sound than e72.

Nags 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 Pls suggest some loud handset with Email Support & WAP for Nokia / Samsng / HTC. I dont like Blackberry especially Blackberry charges. What abt Nokia X6 16 GB May be you can try the samsung touch screen mobiles like Monte...Samsung have good speaker volume..atleast with what I have seen with a couple of models...Nokia always hangs or is slow...I have E72 which sometimes hangs & is very slow as well. Like earlier posted, hanging seems to be an inbuilt feature in Nokia. the only thing which is good in Nokia is battery, battery & ...battery. You get verygood battery life inspite of using many applications..

Nokia is not at all dying.. they got more thn 60% market in still in their hands... and now they competing directly from Chinese OEMs to Apple... One can always find particular segment handset in nokias stable... its just they didnt make enough revenue last year cos of apple super hit app stores.. but ow its different ball game.. and trust me Nokia will touch new highs once they start building gr8 hardware with our beloved and futures OS Android... no one can beat them..
